Chiggy's Touch Salon - Toronto

If you have curly hair, Chiggy's is the place to go. The stylists know what to do with curly hair and actually teach you how to take care of your hair when you're not in the salon. The service is great, the stylists are friendly. I always see Kim, and she hasn't failed me yet! Highly recommended.

For any curly, natural*-haired chick (*hair free from any perms, or relaxers), Chiggy's Touch Salon in Toronto is the spot for you! I initially went to the salon to get a wash and flat-iron straigtening, and these ladies impressed me with their hair wisdom.

Needless to say, curly and Natural hair needs special attention, and you get just that at Chiggy's Touch for a decent price. The salon is warm and inviting - while it's located in the ritzy area of Yorkville, there's no need for any girl from anywhere in the city to feel intimidated (as can happen at other salons). As it was my first visit, I filled out a fun customer profile sheet ("what's your favourite colour?" "what's your favourite flower?")and was offered complimentary coffee/tea. All in all, I felt extremely welcomed and respected here. They were happy to assist me, instead of making me feel like they were doing me a favour by having me come in.

Karlene, my stylist, gently comed out my hair, then thoroughly shampooed and deep conditioned my hair. She was gentle with the amount of heat and tension used to blowdry my hair, and also was gentle with the heat application of the flat-iron. I never thought my hair could look and feel as sleek as it did without the help of a chemical straightener. And while Karlene was taking care of me, I could over Kim (another stylist) droppin' knowledge on another curly girl, who left the salon with a gorgeous curly style.

I'll definitely be heading back to CHiggy's Touch, and I suggest to anyone who wants a new salon to try, especially you curly girls, to give them a shot as well.
