I have been a fan of Duchess since it fiest opened and it has grown and come a log way since then. Hey are the go to place in Edmonton for all French pastries. They have a great selection of macarons, macaron cakes, tarts, and so many more delicious baked items; however, it is always recommended to visit earlier in the day rather than later as they tend to sell out as the end of the day approaches. They do also take orders! I love that they havemonthly features as this allows a bit of excitement for their frequent patrons as well as maintain the same staples/popular items. This place is definitely worth a visit if youre in the area, and I would go as far as to say, it's worth a drive over if you are a fan of food and french pastries!
The Duchess Bake Shop is the best in Edmonton. They are famous for the macrons. The macrons come in every flavor you can imagine. This shop is a great spot for lunch. There is typically a soup and sandwich special. The coffee is delicious too. I have never been disappointed. The environment is adorable and after one visit you will be addicted!
Duchess is Edmonton, Alberta's best bakery. In fact, it made a buzzfeed list as being a top bakery in North America - and it is. The pastries are divine, and priced well. The full-size cakes can be expensive, but not in comparison to similar quality bakeries elsewhere. I've heard the secret is imported butter from New Zealand with a high fat content for that fantastic flavor. There is always a line, and it's always exactly what you need when craving a perfect treat. Coffee is medium, unless it has changed within the last couple of years, I haven't tried it recently. ]
Also, they released an amazing recipe book! Worth a peruse.
And also, I should mention that they are notable for their macarons. I personally am not a huge macaron person, but the pistachio is unreal!
