I feel so much better to see that other people had a similar experience with the owner as I had, and that it is not a personal problem. I love the service provided by Tsering, she is pleasant and gently and awesome!

However the owner places absolutely no value on being polite or personal customer service. I was 15 minutes late for an appointment due to an unforeseen circumstance, and my credit card was charged the full amount of the visit during the scheduled time of my appointment. Then I was told that I could book a second appointment in an hour and pay the full price again. I have never heard of such practices anywhere ,far more at a spa. I received a similar email response stating that this was absolute disrespect for their establishment and we should go our separate ways.

What type of salon is more concerned with rigid practice than customer convenience? There are many places that work with you for a pleasant stress free experience. Aside from all the technicalities, the level of rudeness was the most shocking.

I've been going to this spa for years. This morning I had an absolutely horrible experience with the founder and I will never go back and I want to share an email from her after the event to show how awful her attitude towards her customers is. I feel awful for the estheticians that work there, they are all lovely. The premise is that I had an appointment at booked 10am, I showed up at 9:54am. The founder was sitting at the front desk and held up her hand to me as to say "five more minutes". It's March and it was windy and cold and spitting rain. I stood out there until she let me in. I told her I didn't appreciate being left out in the cold while she sat inside. She told me that the doors don't open until 10am (so why book appointments at 10? they shouldn't start booking until 10:15 then - I've talked to a few people in the service industry and they said that it is common to open up 10 minutes before the "official" opening time in order to avoid this exact situation). I said that I've been going there for years and that I've often accommodated her when she needed me to reschedule or push my appointment back. She told me to get out of her spa and kicked me out the door. She then sent me the passive aggressive email below which pits me as the bad guy (you know the one who was going to give her money for a service she provides) and she takes no responsibility for her inexcusable and irrational behaviour. I didn't scream at her or swear, but she certainly yelled at me and was completely unreasonable. Her email shows how unprofessional she really is. She should have just let it go, I clearly was never going to go back after the way she treated me. >Further to the incident that happened this morning. I'm sorry if you had a bad morning and chose to take it out on us, but your reaction was completely unfair and unjustified. We open at 10am. This means we open the doors at 10am. Banks open their doors right on the dot. Department stores open their doors right on the dot. Grocery stores open their doors right on the dot. Tim Hortons opens their doors right on the dot. Many many other businesses open their doors right on the dot. Do you call Galen Weston and complain because you arrived 10 minutes early and they didn't let you in? Do you tell the manager at Scotiabank that you're not impressed because they opened on time and made you wait 5 minutes even though you chose to arrive early? No, of course not. This is crazy behaviour. So why did you feel it was justified to be so rude to me because we run our business the same way as most? There's a good reason why we don't let people in early. We need to mop. Clean the bathrooms and waiting area. Make sure the floor isn't slippery etc... Anyhow, in cases like this when someone has no respect for our establishment then it's best we go our separate ways. Best of luck! Lynn Founder, Elixir Organic Spa
