Her Esthetician (Ottawa) is terrible! Bad quality waxing damaged my skin, and when I e-mailed a complaint, I received a flippant response showing they only care about the money they are making, not their individual clients. I would caution anyone considering using Her for waxing services not to, their estheticians do not appear to be properly trained in even a simple upper lip wax and caused what is appearing to be permanent damage to my face.

I went to the Laurier location of Her Esthetician in late June. The esthetician was very sloppy and applied the wax not only on my upper lip but around my mouth in what I can only describe as a “clown face”, where I did not ask for wax and where it was not needed, and it spattered when she pulled the strips. The wax on these areas not only caused painful swelling and redness that lasted two weeks, it has left unnatural-looking large pores and a pitted look, which is still there a month later.

I e-mailed a comment/complaint using Her’s website. I got a response from the owner Amy Wong (signed “Management”) which, although making a cursory attempt at apology, went on to quite rudely imply that Her was very successful and had lots of other clients, so my complaint (and my damaged face) didn’t matter. She noted that, “Had our services are all that bad, we would not be able to open 3 locations closed together without the support from return clientele,” and “We do provide generally excellent services and the support from return clientele is a proof that such negative cases are very isolated.” (Please excuse the grammatical errors these are direct quotes from the e-mail).

I would not reccomend this place because of their lack of care for their clients.
