I find the "groin smelling facial " story very unlikely and hard to believe . Considering the fact the spa technicians are FEMALES ONLY ... So if people should come up with false stories , maybe it would be good to get facts straight . I've been coming here for years and I've always been satisfied :) and the front desk area is carpet so there wouldnt be "dirt smudges " there lol maybe u should have came up first to see what the salon looked like before bad mouthing a salon u clearly never been to lol . It's an amazing salon . Stylists are talented and attentive and spa is relaxing professional and peacefull.
ate talking bad about people, but my experience here was so terrible I feel compelled to warn people away. One shouldn't be subjected to the disgusting, unhygienic and downright deplorable 'service' I was made to suffer.
I have been going to spas for the last 15 years twice a month because I absolutely love being able to treat myself to facials and body scrubs. Last Tuesday I made the unfortunate error of walking by this place and going in for a Yonka Facial.
I wasn't too impressed with the level of cleanliness or smell of the place ( I noticed the acrid stench of burning hair and also noticed what appeared to be dirt smudges around the front desk area), but I had a tiring day and decided to just relax and get the facial anyway.
What happened to me you ask that made this place the worst place I've ever been to?
I actually witnessed with my own eyes the 'technician', who went to put his HANDS on my FACE, actually PUT one of said hands DOWN THE FRONT OF HIS PANTS presumably to itch himself and actually then reached out to touch my face afterwards! I suppose he thought I didn't notice since I was in a very relaxed state and my eyelids were half closed.
I could actually smell the stench of sweat and all other accompanying sickening odors associated with that area of a man's uncleansed anatomy as he gestured towards my face!
Needless to say, and I kick myself for not getting his name, I immediately left without paying a dime and will NEVER, EVER return.
I recently went to their spa for a facial ($75 for 1.5hr) and bikini wax ($30 in only 5 minutes!). The price was really good for the service and even better with the 10% off for new clients (you must print out the page from their website though). I went to Kim for both services and I absolutely loved her service and personality. She was straight forward, but nice. And she knows what she's doing with the waxing. She's fast and somehow it doesn't hurt that much! The facial was customized to every client's individual skin condition, which is how it should be. For my oily skin, she did cleansing, then put on a peel with the steam, followed by extraction, mask, a really long face massage, a back rub, and finished with a light application of lotion where needed. My skin looked way better after the facial and she didn't even try to sell me any products! All she gave me were free advice on how to take care of my skin. I highly recommend her. The atmosphere, especially in the very bright white flourescent lit waxing room doesn't exactly shout "spa". But the room where I had the facial was nice and dim and relaxing enough. For me, service is the important thing, ambience is just a bonus.
I recently went to Michael Kluthe for a bikini wax with Kim and a haircut from Petra
The service is very good, everyone is friendly, professional and down to earth
I was very pleased with the wax job and haircut in terms of quality and price
I just got back from a cut and highlights here. They did a great job. Don't be fooled by the number of blue hairs you see there (other customers). They're there because they know these people are GOOD. I'm very pleased with my cut from Petra and my highlights from Barbara. My hair looks much better blended than my last color and cut. They lightened it up with highlites, put a gloss on it and blended the ends better with the cut. The highlights were $150 and the cut was $55. If you go to their website they have a coupon for 15% off for first time visiters. Print it off and take it in with you. Very nice styling staff, very attentive and absolutely no attitude here. This salon isn't about ambiance it is about serious attention to detail with your hair. I'll definitely go back!
