I was desperate for a quick bikini wax and had just moved into the Riverdale area. I googled and found this site. On these recommendations i called and Mila had an opening. I left my house at 4 and was back in the driveway (clean as a whistle) by 4:30!
Mila is very lovely and personable and professional. The wax she uses did not hurt half as much as the other waxing i have had and i have NO irritation at all!!
One thing is that her place is lacking a little ambiance if you are use to the "spa" world. If you go knowing that you wont be bothered by it. It is just a little tired but I will be going back for sure. The price was so reasonable too.
She offers a full hammam as well. You steam and then she does a full body exfoliation with a special cloth and then you get some tea and a body massage after that...for 110$ dollars right now!!! (it may be a special) Im going to check that out this week....and ill report back. I think she is the real thing and a real find.
Ok..i had reported earlier in this blog that Mila offered a Hammam where you get a steam, then a full exfoliation, massage, etc... for 110 dollars. Well... i went. WOW what an experience. You sit in a small steam shower for as long as you want. Its wonderful and relaxing in itself. After that Mila has you lay comfortably on a tile bed with a soft cloth on it and water proof pillow. She has a special cloth and concoction of lotions and potions that she then uses to rub and exfoliate your entire body head to toe. Its incredible. Not to be gross but... the amount of dead dry skin that comes off is shocking. I exfoliate in the shower ever day so i didnt think i would get much from this. Boy was i wrong. Then she slowly pours warm water over you from your head down. In itself its the most nurturing and soothing experience Ive had ever. If that wasn't enough...you get wrapped in a sheet and off you go to the massage table where you get wonderful mint tea and an hour massage.... I have NEVER felt so pampered. When i was done... my skin looked as shiney and silky as an 18 year olds! (and im 45!!) a must do!!
I never had waxing done before and I can say that my experience at this place was great! I had a full leg, brazilian, full face and underarm wax and she charged me 130 for everything which I think was very reasonable. The wax (homemade recipe) Mila used was great and my very sensitive skin approved. Mila was very pleasant and made sure that I was comfortable.
I definitely recommend this place and I will be back!
I've been going to Mila's for four/five years now. It is a fantastic place with fair prices, lovely peaceful atmosphere and of course, for Mila herself. She is a highly skilled professonal who delivers top notch service. Her leg wax is the best!! Kind to skin and nice slow regrowth.
I had my first pedicure there today and it was excellent - so much better than those assembly line type nail places that have sprung up on the Danforth where they hustle you in and out and rudely converse to each other,( not in English), ignoring the customer. It was quiet and relaxing and beautifully done.
Mila is a lovely, engaging lady who gives her customers personalized care. If you live near Danforth, then you should definitely check it out!
I went in for a brazilian and it was GREAT!
It isn't a particularly trendy/upscale looking place, but compared to some waxes I've received at places that are-- Mila's wins HANDS DOWN!
The woman I had (whose name I can't remember offhand) was extremely professional, and made sure I was comfortable with the process (which is always appreciated).
And the wax itself was really interesting and VERY effective as well!
It's thicker than conventional wax, dries to your skin and then is peeled from your skin itself.
And-- unlike my experience at the last place I went to for a wax-- my SUPER-sensitive skin isn't irritated at all.
PLUS they didn't make me buy a product to diminish ingrown hairs (another trendy spa I went to did, and even though I'm sure it was effective, and I'm glad to have it on-hand, it BURNED like a mo-fo when I first applied it!)
And the room I was in had a skylight that was a nice distraction while I was being waxed.
(Improved the relatively casual atmosphere of the spa itself)
So! Long story short-- try it out.
Best $30 I've spent in a LONG while!
I'll go back for sure. I recommend this place- 100% and THEN some! :)
(Always a comfort-- and minor victory-- when you feel like you've found a waxer for good!)
and given the level of service I got, I wouldn't hesitate to go back and try some of the other services they offer-- facials, ear candling, etc.
Hidden gem in Toronto :)
After reading the previous endorsement for Mila, I decided to give her a call. And....I just got my first brazilian waxing this morning and I have to say, Mila and her staff are amazing!!!!!!!! The woman I had was named Opra (sp?) and she was so sweet, really kind and extremely nice. She was very respectful and made me totally comfortable even in the buff from the waist down. I was in and out of there in 15 min tops and this was my first waxing ever? Mila makes her own wax from scratch and Opra was telling me that none of the woman have ever experienced any irritation etc....It cost me only $30 and I will DEFINITELY return when comes the time....Best bang for your buck for sure! Just make sure you call her to make an appt but she is ultra flexible and will work her schedule around yours.

Greetings! If you want a brazilian wax that is quick (less than 15 minutes) then this is the place to go. I have known Mila (owner) for more than 10 years now and she was the first that did my brazilian wax. And let me tell you once you tried her you will go back.
I tried a different salon/spa that offers brazilian but had a terrible experience. Took 2 ladies to do the job and it was 45 minutes and still they have not completed it so ladies you want it quick and fast!! And since then I never go anywhere else and I am willing to drive down to Danforth considering I live in Mississauga, it is worth it. I was in the neighborhool earlier and decided to drop by and she accommodated me without any appointment. But definitely make an appointment.
She makes her own wax (recipe passed down by her mom) and does not use any cloth to remove the wax. It is quick and fast! Of course it will be painful but well worth it!
