I have just started reviewing a lot of places online and I wanted to provide my opinion since it seems there's so much malice online, where as I had a great experience!

I was diagnosed with breast cancer a couple months ago and due to the nature of my growth, I unfortunately had to opt for chemotherapy. Getting a wig wasn't the first thing on my mind, but eventually once I started to look a little further into my future I realized I was going to lose some if not all my hair.

I hit google and started to look around the city for places that offered wigs, and something that would look natural as well. There aren't that many places in the city that offer wigs, so I took to visit Abantu, Eva and Company and lastly Mohair Beauty.

They offer free consultations for all kinds of hair loss, so I was able to go in on a Saturday with my husband and see what they had to offer. I was honestly, very scared -- this is not something in a million years I would've thought I would have to do, hunt around town for a wig.

I went in just prior to my treatment for my consultation and was a bit unsure at first as it seemed it was more of a salon that focused on hair extensions as opposed to wigs for older women. During the consultation, my consultant went over the differences between synthetic wigs, human hair wigs, custom human hair wigs and which would be best suited for me and my lifestyle. They have many synthetic wigs that are ready to go, and something that is human hair can be ordered as quickly as the following day. In terms of pricing, they range from $800 - $1500 and can last anywhere from a year to three years. (I'm still on my first couple months with it, so I'll have to report back with the life expectancy of it).

The consultant suggested I chose a style that was exactly what I had already, perhaps a little longer. Her reasoning behind this was comfort. If I have something that is what I'm used to already seeing, the transition would be less of a blow. She said the most important thing is to make sure that we can get a hair system that no one would be able to tell is a hair system. The human hair wigs have a hand tied portion so that it looks like it's actually growing out of your head. She was friendly, realistic and straight to the point, at my age that's all I'm looking for.

Since I had not done my treatment yet, we chose a style (I opted to go for human hair, because I'd still like to heat style it), worked out pricing and I took my package information with me until I was ready.

A few weeks later when I had my energy up and was sporting a bald look I came back in to order the style we had already chosen (they kept all my information on file). I had an appointment booked as soon as the following Tuesday and was very very nervous.

When I first laid eyes on my wig, I just couldn't imagine it on my head. They placed it on and the fit was snug but not too tight, straightened it out and started on the cut. They were able to match the exact cut that I had before, but suggested I keep it a bit longer. They worked off of a picture I had brought in and talked me through the whole appointment (they could probably tell I was a bit nervous). The appointment took about an hour and a half and they went over styling information and provided me sulphate free shampoo and conditioner samples. They also offer receipts to take to your insurance company for tax purposes.

We are part of a women's support group for those going through chemotherapy and there are about five of us now who have wigs from Mohair. Highly recommend!

Hello Laura Toplass (Urban Rush Producer),

**We have also provided a response on your YouTube video link.

Thank you for your feedback. As each process at the salon is custom (including colouring, installation and hair preparation) we are unable to provide a refund and this is made clear in policy at every consultation. It's similar to a bathing suit or intimate apparel store being unable to provide a refund. We had exhausted every possible solution as per your request and even suggested having the entire process redone free of charge, but unfortunately you declined.

We have been operating for ten years and have many happy customers who are quick and eager to share their experiences here, there's nothing that is an act about over ten years of excellent service . Also as a company that does not advertise, we work mostly off of client referrals.

Our head stylist is a skilled colour technician and has been doing colour for over fifteen years often working with blondes as well.

We encourage everyone to do their research all over town before they decide to settle on a place to have their hair extensions/hair restoration done. We also book our free consultations while other clients are in the salon so that people may have a chance to talk to current clients and ask about their process and experience.

It's unfortunate you felt you had a negative experience at the salon, but you are entitled to your opinion, regardless if it is hurtful or not.

It's hard to find a salon that really caters to the needs of the client; which is why I would highly recommend Mohair Studio for Hair Extensions or any other hair salon services. They provided me with enough information to make an informed decision on the various hair grades and styled my hair to perfection after the installation of my extensions.
