I went here for hot yoga as I have never tried it before and I was a little apprehensive about it being "hot". Was it going to be stuffy? Was I going to have trouble breathing? Was it going to stink?

I was presently surprised when I arrived, the front desk staff are VERY friendly and make conversation. it was about 19 dollars with tax for the Drop In lesson, but if you are a first timer you can buy an unlimited pass for one month for $40. I did the when I left as I really enjoyed the experience.

It's a small facility but it's very nice. The change room is small but really clean and lit well. No lockers. There are four shower stalls so when your session is over I would either book it out of there to get in first, or lay and relax and get back in the change room after the rush has gone. Or line up of course. The showers are clean and they provide a cleanser in the shower.

The actual room looks like it has bamboo floors and is brightly lit with natural light. This area is a corner unit so it's really bright. You can probably fit about 30-40 people, and that's a cosy space. There were probably 20-30 when I went and it wasn't that overwhelming. I would recommend going early on weekends or during the "work day" during the week if it's a first time, I can see it being too much what with the heat and the people there.

The heat is nice, it's warm and almost dry, not so much humid. But you sweat up a storm, I have never sweat so much in my life. So wear something you don't mind sweating in. Bring a towel to keep in the room and one to shower with. Bring water, they have water there but it's pricey. They also provide mats and towels if you don't have/or forgot one. I think you do pay for a mat, but it's cheap.

The instructor was great, I thought she would talk quieter to be honest, but I guess that's good so you can hear her instructions. She was warm and made a few jokes and offered challenging poses. I felt like I was doing things right as I felt exactly what she explained I should feel. and I saw her helping others.

I will go back again and use my pass. After I left I had already received and e-mail from them thanking me for coming and offering good advice for next time and encourage you to ask questions.

They offer massages at various prices, which I didn't try. Their website is helpful and has the schedules on there and it's easy to follow.

Really enjoyed myself and feel great! Positive room and staff.

I went to Moksha Yoga Studio in North York last week. It is located in the Yonge and Sheppard area. I went their a couple of weeks before to purchase the Passport to Prana pass. The studio was listed as one of the locations to pick up the pass. The staff were very friendly. It was my first time doing a hot yoga class. My fear was that the room would be too hot. I was fine. The instructor went around to check your poses. It was a very relaxing experience. I have done yoga on and off for years. You must remember to bring a large towel and a water bottle. There are changing rooms with a shower. There are no lockers. I would definitely go back. The studio is conveniently located from my job. I was told that when I return that I can get a intro week (unlimited classes) for $20.

Passport to Prana pass information: http://passporttoprana.com ($30.00 for the pass allows you to attend one yoga class at each of the 30 participating studios . The pass expires February 28, 2009)
