This restaurant is located at 2 Adelaide Street West, Toronto (in between Adelaide and Yonge) in the Scotia Plaza.

My mom and I have gone to this restaurant a couple of times now and both times have been disgusted by the horrendous service. Why do we keep going back you ask? Because the food is fantastic and quite reasonably prices given its location in the heart of the financial district. I got a salmon platter last time I went and it was no more than 15 dollars. This time I got a bento box which included salad and miso soup to start, 6 California rolls, tempura (including one piece of shrimp and one piece of crab) 4 dumplings, steamed rice and teriyaki chicken (in my moms case she got salmon). Both were SO yummy. All this for only 13 bucks!

My service complaints: The first time we waited more than 20 minutes for our change, only to have our server come over and ask us to give her the table because she needed it for the next lunch hour. We told her we were waiting for our change. She disappeared and did not return. We complained to the manager, who personally brought us our change, at which point our waitress showed up with our change as well. The lack of communication is astounding.

The last time we went the whole restaurant had cleared out and we were still waiting for our bill. There was not a waiter or waitress in sight, and when ours finally did appear she brought the bill at snail pace. Not to mention the California rolls came after our meal for some strange reason, so we had to have them packed up. Both times we had lunch there our lunch took an hour and a half (plus) which is simply unacceptable considering most, if not all people in this area need to get back to work after an hour. Most restaurants in this area are extremely mindful of this fact, but not this place apparently.

Overall I don’t think I will be going back. The food is great and an incredible value but I cannot deal with the service. I suppose if you were not in a rush to get back to work and could afford to have a leisurely lunch it would be fine for you, however I’m willing to bet that the waitress’ disappearing act would be equally as distressing to you.

can’t say I recommend going here unless you’re in the mood to be extremely aggravated.
