So the food at Rainforest Cafe is ok, but you don't go there for the food. This is definitely a place to go for the experience. The atmosphere is really fun and unique. Definitely worth going once, but don't expect great food.

The Rainforest Cafe at Mall of America, Bloomington, Minnesota, is one in a chain of restaurants of the same name. The big draw to this restaurant is the rainforest theme. Our family enjoys the large fish tanks, the elephants and the apes. Now that my children are older, they also enjoy the simulated thunderstorm that takes place every 30 minutes or so. The price range is pretty average for any nice restaurant at the Mall of America. The portion size is pretty big - a family of four could feast on the Volcano Cobb Salad! We appreciate the large variety in the menu offerings, including some different children's options. (ribs) One recommendation: If you have a large group, request to be seated away from the waterfall. The only times we have ever had bad service at the restaurant was when we were seated near the waterfall. Ever since we have requested sitting elsewhere, our service has been excellent. I don't know why, but there it is. On the whole, this restaurant is a pleasant experience. It is my son's favorite restaurant. Use caution, however, if traveling with children under five years old because the thunderstorm can be scary to them.
