Salad King is a busy restaurant that provides quick service and good food, given the price point. I find it to be almost a combination of a fast food restaurant mixed with a sit down service - because you get the food so fast and its so cheap, yet there are servers and you are seated at tables.

Salad king is great. Very tasty food. During peak hours it's hard to get a table. The service is good and usually very quick. Great tasting food. A Toronto staple!

I LOVE Salad King! It has been a regular must-go-to restaurant for almost 10 years for me, and my friends. Pad Thai is my absolute favourite dish, but I can honestly say I've never disliked anything, and I've tried several meals. It's packed during the lunch and dinner hours, it can get quite noisy, and it has a community-style dining room, but the food is fantastic, the portions are more than generous, the service is fast, and the price is right.

Take out is readily available for anyone who wants to skip the dining room experience.

Pretty good for a quick bite. I've had their fried rice a couple times and its nothing special really. Love their mango and sticky rice dessert though!
The atmosphere was a little lacking... its very noisy, esp if you are seated in the cafeteria-style dining room during dinnertime! I'm also not a fan of sitting inches away from other people and having to over hear their conversation (and vice-versa).
The service is quick and for the price, you can't really complain!

if you're downtown and looking for a quick eat, this is a must try. the portions are generous and the prices are low. the only downside is the sheer number of people in the joint at any given time. if you're thinking of eating at salad king during the key lunch or dinner times, be prepared to wait in line that could go out the door.

if you do decide to check it out, take note of the spice rating when ordering. i like all of their curries so definitely try something that suits your fancy and you will likely not be disappointed.

If you're visiting the city and you want a fast, fresh casual meal close to the Eaton's Center & Dundas Square without tourist-trap prices, this is a great spot to hit. Even if it looks busy, stick around - the line generally moves fairly quickly and the price you'll spend on a generous portion of spicy Thai food makes it worthwhile.

The quality of service at Salad King has certainly increased in the last year and half or so, the staff is more diverse and they definitely dont rush you out if there anymore ( believe me , ive lollygagged long enough to test it out.
i find the food quality isnt every consistent, sometimes the sauce is watery or three chillis tastes more like 4 some days, but salad king isnt for the ones with sensitive palates or connoisseurs of fine thai cuisine, SALAD KING is perfect for students, which is why they make most of their money off of us.

I've been to Salad King numerous times and I've always had a positive experience. It's a busy restaurant, but the service is quick so you're in and out faster than most places. It's a cafeteria style downstairs - with large tables where you sit beside strangers, but still have a server. Upstairs is never as busy and it's traditional private tables. The menu is different upstairs, but just as good. Overall, I'd highly recommend Salad King for anyone who likes Thai food.

P.S. I'd recommend getting the mango chicken!
