This was by far the best sushi and the best service I've ever had in my life. Where to begin? This was the best restaurant we visited in New York. The food is amazing. It's the freshest sushi I've ever had. Try the scallops - wow! They melt in your mouth and are absolutely delicious. We ordered the prix fixe menus but then also ended up ordering some additional things as we went.
You MUST sit at the sushi bar because it makes the experience that much cooler as you interact with your very own Chef. There are about 5 of them and they stand in a row helping the people directly in front of them as well as making stuff for the other tables. Our Chef was awesome and instructed us how to eat some of the stuff we hadn't tried before. The menu is a little different than you'll see at other sushi restaurants. They don't have your traditional rolls like spider maki or california roll. They are typically one fish and you can request onions or cucumber. Best fish I've ever had. I don't know if I can eat sushi again in Toronto after that.
The service was phenomenal. They treat you like royalty. You never have to pull out your own chair, wipe up your own dribblings or ever ask to have your water glass refilled. They stand behind you and zip in and out cleaning up that blob of rice you just dropped or that dribble of soy sauce with an "excuse me!" each time. It's almost funny. Best service I've ever had.
Whether you live in New York or are visiting you have to check this place out. We spent about $130, $30 of which was tip. Yes, it was that good. Don't even think about it. Just go.
