I went to a free hot yoga class here awhile ago.

The receptionists were very nice to me. When I came it the receptionist was a female and when I left it was a male. Both were polite, gave advice and asked my opinions on the classes.

I went to a hot power flow class which was a bit over my level but since it was free I went for it anyway. Unlike some other hot yoga classes there was no 2 mins break in the middle. I did not like the instructor. Especially compared to the instructors I've had at The Yoga Sanctuary (where I regularly go) this instructor did not seem very competent. She was knowledgeable about the poses and did fix my posture once. She probably knew there were many beginners and new people because this was free class and it was advertised for all levels but she didn't explain the poses at all and just expected everyone to follow. I am probably a novice in yoga and had trouble following her because she wasn't very clear.

The prices are $12-$18/class depending if you buy a punch card or not. I would definitely not go for $18/class, that's pretty ridiculous in my opinion.

Overall, I probably wouldn't go again. I would want to check out a more beginner class with a different instructor but wouldn't want to pay $18/class to do so. And I wouldn't commit myself to going to 10 classes if I didn't like it. The beginner special $10 for the first class and a free second class is a good way to test the waters to see if it's for you.

I went to Tula Yoga & Spa last week for their Wellness Week event (free classes!). The location is great and close to the subway. The exterior of the building isn’t the greatest, but it’s very nice on the inside – hard wood floors, good lightings, lots of room etc.

SERVICE: My friend and I were shocked by the rude service at the front desk. There was one gentleman that seemed to be running the operation that had a lot of negative opinions about customers and processing paperwork. He singled someone out who as not filing out the form correctly, asked if someone else had an aversion to towels (because they didn’t bring one), told people to stop blocking the hallway etc. It felt it couldn’t be real almost.

CLASS: Excellent! Great instructor and made me feel comfortable. Much more physical than some other hot yoga classes I’ve been too. I felt some pain the next day so I knew the class was really effective.

Overall, despite the bad service I’d actually go back to Tula. The instructor was great and the location couldn’t be better. Perhaps the person at the front was having a stressful week because it was busy, so I’ll have to report back next time if it’s just as bad.

I came here for a lunch time Hot Hatha Power Flow Yoga class the other day. I must say... I really got my sweat on!

The front desk staff I find to be very mellow and casual. Almost a little too casual? I think that they could be a little bit more professional. Though I found that the yoga instruction made up for it. The instructor was good, and did not go through the positions too quickly. She went around the room helping to gently re-adjust people's postures.

The studio is quite nice... very nicely decorated with two rooms for yoga/pilates. The entire place smells of incense, and when I first walked in I immediately could feel the calm atmosphere. The change room is too small though, and it feels more like a storage place for yoga mats. And like the others had said... although the bathroom is nice and clean, there are only two showers. The lockers are also really small... so try not to bring a backpack with you.

Overall I really like this place and the hot yoga felt amazing. I felt refreshed and energized, ready for the rest of the day! I will probably come back here again for more in the future.

Feels great!!

Great place for hot yoga in downtown with reasonable price. It was my first time doing hot yoga and I am hooked by Tula. The instructor is great, the assistant instructor is very friendly. My friend's a first timer and wasn't able make it to the end of the class. The assistant instructor get out of the room in the middle of the class, talk to her and make sure that she's okay.

The hot room is good size with lots of mirror. There's a seating area if you are early for you class. Change room is a bit too small, and shower rooms aren't too great. Lockers are tiny.

Overall, a great place to go.

I have been here twice for hot yoga. The first class I attended was an 8am 1 hour session. It was nice, but I wasn't sore afterwards at all. I expect to be sore after a 1 hour workout. The second class was a 75 minute slot at 10am. That class was killer. I sweat ferociously. I could hear it plopping on my yoga mat. I was completely drenched. I took that class yesterday and today I am nice and sore. My husband commented that my skin looked really nice after. The class was quite challenging and we spent a lot of time in positions with our heads upside down, which hurts after awhile, but I feel like I got an excellent workout and will definitely be going back.

The location is great at Adelaide and Duncan, and the prices are pretty reasonable. The first class is $10 and the second is free. When you reach your third class you can choose between buying classes individually ($15 - $17) or getting a punch card or membership. The punch card works out to around $12 a class. Tula is also a spa with a wide range of services offered including massage, facials, threading, waxing, manicures, etc. I haven't tried any of those yet, but I will definitely keep going back for the hot yoga.

The hot hatha class was amazing!!!! The class was great for all levels and there were a wide variety of people taking the class. The instructor was really good and contantly moved around the class to help with the different positions.
While the facility is fairly nice - the changeroom is extrememly small and there are only two showers and no lockers.
Dont forget your water!!! Matts can be rented for a small fee.
The first class is $10 - but your second class is free!
