Last night I had dinner with my friends at Tutti Matti on Adelaide St. We went for Winterlicious. I waited 10 minutes to get a glass of water. The wine was excellent. The Winterlicious menu was $35 for appetizer, main course and dessert. For the appetizer we each had a spinach salad with figs and pine nuts. There was nothing good about this salad. It was dry and flavorless; there was little or no dressing. When our main course came we had high hopes. I ordered a naked spinach and ricotta in butter and sage sauce. It was disgusting, basically balls of cheese thrown in a bowl of butter. I took one bite and then traded my dish for my friends’ meal. Her dinner tasted like really salty hamburger helper. The service was awful; we were constantly looking for our server. When we received our bill, it included a 15% gratuity, which we would have never given otherwise. I was so surprised that so many people were eating there. I wondered if they had the same meal we had. I would never go back. I paid almost $60 for a very disappointing dinner.
