LUSH Big Shampoo

The Lush Big Shampoo is an incredible product. If you have fine, lifeless, limp hair, then you have to try this. I was a little skeptical at first when I heard that it was a handmade shampoo and it did not look like your average drugstore product that comes in a fancy bottle. I had tried other Lush products and have always been pleased, so I decided to give it a try. The ingredients are completely natural and have beneficial qualities for hair care. For instance, sea salt which helps add volume, citrus extracts which help add shine and coconut oil for moisture. I only needed to use a dime sized amount in order to get a tremendous amount of lather and the scent is so refreshing. My hair felt so clean afterwards and my scalp was not itchy, like a few other shampoos tended to leave it. I also noticed that my scalp did not get oily after a few days and I did have less frizz. The thing I liked most, however, is how much volume this shampoo gave my hair. The bottle is a little small, and the price is somewhat expensive for a shampoo ($20.95), however, I can see this lasting many months, maybe even a year (if you wash every 3 days), since you only need to apply very little. I am so pleased with this product that I've been telling everyone about it. It makes a great gift too, if you know of anyone struggling with their hair.

No shampoo that claims to give volume ever works for me. No matter what I do to my straight, flat, thin hair... 30 minutes later it rejects whatever styling I have and goes back to being straight and flat. Despite my hair being completely straight, when I blowdry it I always get that bend/kink in my hair. A little annoying wave, so I use a straightener to fix it. When I used BIG, it didn't happen.

BIG does give me a bit of volume, but as I said, my hair rejects it and goes more or less flat after 30 minutes, though it doesn't get as flat as it usually does. So it doesn't do MUCH for volume, but still enough to make me happy.

This is a shampoo you would not want to use every single day, as it feels as if it is stripping your hair, and it does tend to dry it out. Therefore, I only use this on the weekends. It makes my hair shiny and soft, so those are the days I want to use it the most. The drying factor isn't a huge downside to me, because as it gets towards the end of the day, because my hair is so thin and fine, it builds up more oils and is more noticeably oily than people with thick, full hair. So, it drying hair out is not a big deal to me and actually helps me, whereas I've heard for others it hasn't!

The smell is alright. It's not the greatest, it kind of reminds me of laundry detergent. It lathers very well with a small amount, so this will last you a LONG time. For some reason (and this doesn't happen with other shampoos to me), it'll mix with the water in the shower and somehow pass over my mouth, and let me tell you it's like being in the ocean, where you're spitting every second to make the salty taste go away, haha.

Despite it not giving me a great amount of volume, I love this product anyways. Just the way it makes my hair feel when I do use it, is amazing. I didn't think I'd trust LUSH to have a good shampoo, but I was wrong!

My hair is really flat, no lift and fine and straight in texture. I have spend hundreds of dollars in "lifters", "volumizers" and "root lifters". None of them worked all that well....Until I found BIG.

It is SO FABULOUS and it takes so very little to wash your hair. It doesn't have all of the unnecessary fillers that most shampoos do (nor do their other products).
The first time I used it, my daughter and friend both asked what I did different. I really love it and it gives my hair great texture instead of the fine slick texture I usually have. I also use Lush's VEGANESE conditioner - WONDERFUL AS WELL!!

I got this shampoo as a present...other wise I probably wouldn't have tried it out myself. Only use a TINY amount because the lather is absolutely amazing. Makes my hair shine and easily manageable. The smell isn't terrific and can take getting used too. I wouldn't use it every day just for this reason alone. Other than the smell (which is hard to explain--salty?) it's a terrific shampoo.

This was one of the first things that I tried at Lush. To be honest, I really didn't enjoy the scent at first, but I figured if it was one of their top sellers, then it had to be good and worth a try. I was right. Yes, twenty dollars on a shampoo seems a bit much, but when they say you only need a little, you really only need a little. I use barely a dime-size amount and it lathers like crazy! After a few uses I started to enjoy the scent as well. It lasts a crazy-long time and it's worth the money. They say that it takes years off your hair. Mine feels so soft, wonderful, and rejuvinated after all the damage that I've done to it.
