What's the best blowdryer that won't damage hair and will create volume? I have fine hair! I'm willing to spend as much as required!

I've heard paul mitchell hairdryers are really good. I'm confused whether to go with tourmaline or ceramic...

Also is there one that I can take overseas? dual voltage?

Avanti Ultra on Dec 09, 2009 @ 11:44 pm
I used to use Conair, but the last two I got from them literally shot sparks at my head. I've never seen anything like it. So about a year ago, I got the Avanti Ultra from one of those beauty depot stores and it's been a fantastic investment. I have fine hair but lots of it, so it used to take a good 45 minutes to blow dry my hair. Now it takes about 15 minutes. It's a fantastic blow dryer. Paired with a round brush I get fantastic results - even without using product.

At the end of the day though, the way you blow dry your hair is what matters the most. There's a certain technique to it that takes practice. I'm still learning ;)

Avanti Ionic on Dec 15, 2009 @ 12:38 pm
I second the Avanti brand, but I use the Avanti Ionic Avion hair dryer, from Beauty Supply Outlet. Great investment (around $100), takes less time to dry my hair than ever.

I use a Conair tourmaline ionic one and am really happy with it - I've had it for a year or so now. If you want one with dual voltage, a lot of the travel dryers have that feature. T3 makes a great travel dryer.
