Yay or Nay: Rita Ora wears Alexander McQueen

Posted by ChickAdvisor Team | Monday November 12, 201294 comments

When I think of Rita Ora, I think of what a love child between Gwen Stefani and Rihanna would be like. She has that Stefani trademark blonde bombshell hair and retro inspired makeup look. And yet in her fashion choices, she's all Riri (and maybe a bit of Gaga thrown in?) with bold colours and patterns. You'd think that with two powerhouse style ladies mixed together you'd get something double awesome, right?

Well, maybe not so much. Take a look at this outfit that Rita wore at the 2012 MOBO Awards at Echo Arena in Liverpool.

This dress is so close to being cute, it's actually painful.

The embroidered florals and the 3D flower details are adorable and sweet, and even though I'm not usually a fan of the ballet inspired tutu skirt, this works. The shoes and jewelry are a bit OTT (over the top), but gold layers are a Rita signature. My issue with this dress is that bizarre napkin-esque neckline. Like a lobster bib? A halter, a deep V or pretty much anything else would have looked better. Why they went with that is beyond me.

What do you think of this outfit? Is it a yay or a nay? Leave a comment below with your vote by November 18th and you could win!

Nay, I like the shoes, but the dress on the other hand should have stayed in her closet!

The shoes and jewelry are OTT? Not. The dress is a bit, but thats mostly the crazy high neckline. I like it - but I have no clue who this girl is without checking Google!

Nay - it's too short at the back, and looks hideous without flattering her at all from the front. I do like the open back, but there are other, more flattering, dress choices with an open back.

This girl is so pretty when she smiles and so "hag-gy" (for lack of a better word) looking when she doesn't. The dress is great, but she can't carry her hair and make up unless she is beaming ear to ear. Therefore I guess this is a conditional thumbs up.

Nay. I agree with the neckline thing. It could have been just a tad bit cleaner and the dress would have looked fine.
