Acrylic or Gel nails?

Anonymous

I've always been getting acrylics I've never actually tried gel so I wanted to know opinions. I already know acrylics are very bad for your natural nail but I just love the look. So I'm wondering are gels better for your nail and can you get the same shapes?

Gel nails as they are healthier and your nails breathe better.

Gel all the way!

Yes you can get the same shapes!! As well they are much easier to learn how to do yourself. Getting the products on wish or ebay is the best way to go to save money if you do not mind waiting for shipping. As well gel nails I find actually give you more leeway with designs :)

I only used to use gel nails as they have a more natural look. The only thing is when you finally remove them your nails underneath are not so great. Mine were thin and I needed to buy products to strengthen them and nurse them back to health.

Acrylic or gel

I would definitely go with gel nails they allow your nail to breeze through you can have lots more designs and don't chip is easy and they are resistant to colour fading from being out in the sun.

!!

This is almost a trick question. The product itself is not the issue, it's the removal. As long as you (or the tech) are removing the product properly you should not have an issue. Your natural nail should not be thin & brittle. When they take your product off DO NOT let them pop it off! They need to soak and file. It just takes a real long time so they pop it off to make it quick and then your nail is ruined! The gel would be a better choice though.

Nails

The best thing to do, for your nails sake, is to just get shellac on your nails. It will harden the same way as acrylic or gel, but it doesn't destroy your nail beds. My nails are now super long, and it's my natural length. I always had weak, bendable nails - but now they are long and strong! All I put on is shellac polish or gel polish!
