Best makeup products for fair skin tones

As a girl with fair skin I've always found it hard to figure out what products will work on my skin tone.
What are the best makeup products for fair skin?
Another problem I have is figuring out what colour of lip sticks and blush work with fair skin.
What's the best lip shades and blush shades for fair tones?
What colours/shades should someone with fair skin stay away from?

I always find it difficult to find foundation for my extremely fair skin, but I can help out a little on lipsticks and blushes! If you have a pink undertone to your skin, like mine (do you turn pink if you poke your skin or very quickly turn pink in heat?) I've found that for blushes and lipstick corals and petal colours work very well.

Pretty much anything in the pink range or 'blush' coloured, pink with orange tones.

You can even wear neon pinks if you're brave enough, but I would say stay away from browns and dark reds.

Fair Skin

As a pale / fair skinned person myself I have to ensure I wear a good SPF every day and also concentrate on finding a base that will not oxidise and cause an orange-y cast, as a lot of foundations can unfortunately do thus. MAC's Studio Fix in the Shade NC20 is excellent for fair skin and does not oxidise; the brand have shades lighter available for fairer skin tones, Rimmel's 25 Hour Foundation is a more budget friendly option that stays flawless the whole day and is available in Ivory toned skin shades for the paler amongst us.

And moving onto blushers; I don't like anything too opaque or chalky. Luckily there's some popular blush shades out there that deliver a more sheer wash of colour for a healthy, natural looking glow: try:

NARS Orgasm - available in powder and cream formulas
Benefit Coralista
Benefit Georgia
Benefit Dandelion / Dandelion Twinkle

Benefit do some of the best blush shades for paler skin in my opinion

If you cannot skip bronzing powder, look for a lighter version of an original shade, like

Benefit Hoola Lite

Moving on to lip shades;

If you're in your 20's or 30's with paler skin; I don't advise red lipstick. While bold and glamorous the wrong shade / undertone will end up ageing you. Instead opt for a palette of pinks and nude shades with a blue undertone. The cooler toned shades work better to compliment the cool undertone of your complexion and wot't age you like a red lip. Berry tones for the winter are also something you may want to avoid as they may generally look too dark to work with pale skin.

I have just been loving plumping glosses in sheer pink and nude tones lately like:

- Morphe Make It Big in Big Bang Glow
- MAC Powerglass in Gee That's Swell
- MAC Powetglass in PoutyFace
- ELF Lip Plumping Gloss in Pink Sugar

If you're after a more opaque or matte look, I love MAC's lipsticks in:

Honeylove - a true pale nude
Speed Dial - a blue toned pink
Creme Cup - pale pink
