So I was reading the flats vs heels thread and wanted to share some handy advice my podiatrist shared.
Heels are obviously bad for your feet, but the wrong type of flats are too! The flats that tend to barely cover the toes and have no other way to stay on the foot will injure your feet as your foot tries to grab it when you take a step and it loosens.
If you have to wear a flat shoe that goes just above the toe, try and wear one with an extra strap if you're going to be walking far!

And before I forget, he said that New Balance are the best brand for runners or people who walk a lot!

It just occurred to me reading that thread and I had a foot injury recently so I thought we could all reap the benefits or the $100 I paid the doctor, haha!

Great insights! Thanks for sharing. I guess that's why I heard wearing flip flops are not really good for your feet either.

Cool, that's good advice.

Yup! The strain of your feet trying to grab them can cause problems!

Thanks for the great advice ,I never really paid much attention to the shoes I'm wearing ,but it does explain why my feet get tired and sore

My mum ended up with a serious injury as she always wore 'flip flop' type shoes and the doctor told her after that. But she's also prone to foot injuries!
