Hello Chicks!
I was hoping some of you could suggest some remedies for soothing irritated, itchy eczema patches on my body. I have used prescription creams but I much rather would like to use natural remedies.

I had the same problem!

I had been to a dermatologist, my family doctor, cosmeticians you name I have tried everything that had ever been suggested to me and nothing seemed to work. I get eczema on my eye lids, legs and my head sometimes. It was always such a pain and I was so self conscious about it. Until one day a pharmacist suggested to me eucerin, glycerin and water. You can make it yourself if you buy all the ingredients and mix them together or you can go to your local pharmacy and they sell it for like $3 a bottle because they make it themselves. I have never had to use anything else since. If apply it for a day or two and it is gone for months at a time. I haven't had a problem with it in 4 years. Hope this helps!

I think there is another thread on this here somewehre...but I had recommended the body shop hemp line as well as coconut oil. Both are great for any skin irritations I think. My boyfriend had dermatitis and I have eczema and they are both cleared up now, even in the shoulder months (when I find eczema to be the worst).

Someone else had suggested avoiding gluten or wheat might help alleviate symptoms also. I don't know if it's just a coincidence but my boyfriend and I haven't had any dermatitis or eczema to treat in about a year...which is when we started avoiding gluten (and lactose).

My son has rare outbreaks.

My son has occassional outbreaks and coconut oil works really well for us. We found that a lot of bath products made it worse, and found that not using bubble bath actually helped him to heal faster (lots of trial and error). If you really need a bubble bath (as one sometimes does lol) we found palmolive dish soap has some great scents and doesn't mess with his skin.

Yes, I have that.......

Yes, I have that eczema on my left hand and close to my right foot ankle, I find that avoiding gluten and milk products should help, my mom told me to use Vaseline but I always was told coconut oil and more natural remedies should help even better, I swears by Finlandia pharm the skin soother tea one tsp = one cup and make it fresh! the tea itself has blood soothing herbs to calm the bloodstream and thus calm the skin. It has licorice root, sweet flag, candula, etc plus stevia to sweeten the deal, it is by per 100g
