Lip Shades Advice Please!

I've been searching and trying many lip gloss, lip liner's (lip sticks) and could never find a shade that I'm happy with for my lips.

My lips is very pigmented naturally but I want a color that looks different on me other than my natural lip color. Every lip stick lip gloss just looks the same on my lips. It just looks like I have lip balm on. (Unless I use dark brown or red) I'm getting tired of using those colors and want some change.

I guess what I'm asking for advice here is, how do you chicks find that nice nude pink shade? Even if I get that particular shade, it doesn't show on my lips. Any advice, tips from  you beauty guru here?

If you have very pigmented lips, you should try putting concealer or foundation on them first. This will even out your canvas and help you start with a blank slate so that you get the true pigment of your lip colour:) Hope that helps!

Thanks @Xoliana

I never thought of thought of that, I will definitely try it! I've been dying to get that pinkish nude shade! Thanks. :D

No problem! I hope it works out for you. I do this before putting on bright colours to make them look even brighter, and it seems to do the trick!

I've had the exact same problem! Most nude/pink shades are too light for my lips and even shades that I think look too dark just completely blend in with my lip colour!

One tip I was given was to pull down your lower lip and look at the colour of the inner lip. If you go a shade darker than what you see, you'll likely find a perfect nude that does in fact 'show up'.

I have fair skin with pink undertones so I've always been told I have cool toned skin. You can google your skin tone (warm, cool or neutral) and can find some awesome shade suggestions. I did this and now my go to lipsticks tend to have a purple hue.

lip advice

Kat Von D has some nice nudes - not in liquid - but in her regular lipsticks ....
go give them a swatch .... there are many universal shades in her line

Try using red, then apply an orange colour to them. It's a great look for most that I know
