Some girls love it, but I personally am not a huge fan of mac. The quality isn't as good as some others out there. I find it makes peoples skin look cakey and dirty. In this day and age, for that amount of money, you should look flawless. Anything less than the best is not acceptable.

Also, MAC is really yellow undertoned, so if you're cool toned, it probably won't suit you well.

I highly recommend trying out Makeup HD Foundation and Bobbi Brown.
You can read lots of reviews online, including here on Chick Advisor here and here and here
You can look at all foundation reviews here

Youtube is also a great place to see reviews on foundations.

Another negative for MAC is their return policy isn't the greatest. If you're not within 30 days of purchasing it or you've lost your receipt, they won't return it for you (or they'll give you hard time!). However if you go with other foundations from better quality companies out there like NARS, Smashbox, MUFE, BB, Dior, etc. you can pick it up from Sephora, and Sephora has an *AMAZING* return policy!!! There's no time limit, and if you don't have the receipt, no problem! You can bring in a photo Id and they'll return the item for you.

Late to this party too...

If you can find the right formula for your skin, then YES, MAC does some great foundations. Worth the splurge. Go to the counter and get them to figure one out for you... take a bit to try for a couple of days at home. Try more than one brand..

I agree with becky (above) that many of their foundations can have a yellow undertone. Works for many people but not all. Don't forget to try it out on your face (neck etc might be close but not the exact colour of your face) and go outside and check yourself out in natural light. Happy Shopping!

I don't care for it

but that's just me. I have oily to dry skin and a olive skin tone. I
tried a few in store and they looked really bad on me. Your best bet is
to go in where they have someone you can talk to and help you find
what's right for you. It's also can be hard to tell if it really matches
you when your in the store because of the lighting, so you might want
to take a mirror with you and go out side for a good look in natural
light. I hope this helps a bit.
