Nail products to help weak, dry nails

Can anyone recommend any good products  to strengthen nails. My nails and cuticles are very dry. After years of picking at my nails, I have finally kicked the habbit. I would love to have longer and stronger nails by summertime. I have used Burts Bees lemon cuticle cream and I find it very mosituring. I have also used OPI envy and found that the nail polishes can be very drying. Are there any good nail oils or hand creams anyone can recommend?

Thanks chicks

Witchcraft makes a good protein hardener and cuticle oil. Coconut oil will help too.

Love nail products!

OPI Nail Envy in my absolute favourite..it is a base coat and it really helps to make my nails stronger and less brittle. Essie's Grow Stronger is pretty good too! I also use LUSH Lemony Flutter cuticle butter...really great to help the cuticles out!

Almond oil

I use 100% Almond Oil (any brand) on my skin, hair, and nails! With its versatility, I don't mind spending $12 on a bottle. I rub a little on my cuticles about twice a week, and it definitely works. The manicurists at my salon have even asked me what I have using because they don't understand how my nails are looking so good with my reduced appointments. And it's always a plus that I can rub any excess on my face/body or the ends of my hair!

I wanted to grow longer and thicker hair, but wanted something more on the natural side, so I started taking biotin pills(available at walmart for like $3) and ive noticed not only my hair but my NAILS have been growing like crazy!!!! and their way stronger now as well.

not sure if this is what youre looking for but....

mamaluv told me to use...

Burt's Bee's Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream when I was complaining about my nails doing the same thing. It smells good enough to eat, but the best part is that it works!! Use it every night before bed, or even every time you wash your hands. It's up to you how much you want to apply it, but trust me once you start using it you'll want it close by so you can use it all the time. My nail's are now long and strong and its all thanks to mamaluv's suggesting I use this Lemon Butter Cuticle Cream. You can find and read my review for it if go to my chick page, than go to the 42 review page under my reviews. Or you can just do a search for it on the home page and read all of the reviews that have been done for it. Good luck to you.

Suggestion for weak nails

Someone at my work told me if you dip your nails in garlic, it helps a lot. I tried it and it has started making a difference. But the bad part is that your nails smell like garlic. Def try it and make sure you don`t have any nail polish or anything on. Also dip your nails in garlic I would say for 10 minutes.

I was going through the Aesthetics program in Ontario and was handed a product from CND (Creative Nail Designs) to use. It is for cuticles and helping to make them healthy. It is called Solar Oil. It is a conditioner for your nails. I find that, when I remember to use it, it works wonderfully.

I Agree with the Solar Oil Recommendation

I Agree with the Solar Oil recommendation! It is great to rub into your cuticles and nails. Also try taking gelatine caplets.

I have read countless things stating that chopping up a garlic clove and putting it into a clear nail polish works great. I have actually just started doing this. I had a 3 step system kit I got from Barielle and it was working a little, but I think I wasn't keeping up with it enough. So now i'm trying the garlic in my polish so hopefully that will work quicker. If I just hit my nails on something, it hurts so much. They peel, chip, break, and have grooves in them. They're awful. Definitely research the garlic in nail polish trick, it apparently does work. Good luck!
