New Fat Shredder: CoolSculpting, aka cryolipolysis

mamaluv

"Freezing my a** off" just got switched from an overused idiom (non-literal saying) to an actual thingy.

As in, you can now in fact freeze your a** off.

The CoolSculpting technique (by Zeltiq) got the greenlight from the US FDA last summer.  It's designed to superchill your fat cells without harming the surrounding tissue, destroying the baddies and making them reabsorb into your body to be sieved out by your liver and lymphatic system.

There is supposedly no post-treatment downtime, and you can experience up to 20% fat loss after one session with continuing effects up to 3 months down the road.  Best of all, it's non-invasive and only costs $500 per area (no word on how big an area we're talking about), which compared to all the other surgical methods seems like a better option (disclaimer: I'm not a doctor and am making huge assumptions here).

Sounds cool (ugh, sorry)!

The only thing I'd be worried about is the toxins that are stored in our fat. Where do they go?  Just a thought... since I'm a nerd and everyone knows it ;)

Would you give this a try?

Sceptical But Interested

I will never be one to jump at a new surgical procedure (no matter what it promises). But I would be interested in following this story and seeing what kind of trend it creates.

$500 seems pretty cheap for these kinds of results so I could see lots of women (and men) across the country jumping at this.

Hmm

This article has bounced around in my head for the past couple of days, I'd really like to see some testimonials and maybe some before and after shots.

i'm with Lauren

I'd love to try it but I want to see someone else risk their money first lol :-)

$500 per area is OK if it means visible inches lost, but $500 is A LOT to waste in another gimmick!
