New Mac Pigments Reduce in Size, Not in Price...

Mandy

If you checked the MAC website or went to the counters, you can tell that MAC changed their packaging for the pigment. The new pigments is still $23.50 CAD, but the size went from 7.5g to 4.5g...that's almost half! Insane...

I think i've only hit the bottom of one pigment, and that's intensive daily use... but still, that's a steep price to pay for half the product.

What do you think? Still worth it? Hurry and go to your counter, they may still have some of the original packaging pigments left...

Saw this too...

I noticed this in stores recently and I'm also not so impressed. The argument they are making is no one actually uses up an entire jar of pigment anyway - in a lifetime. True, I have never used up an entire container, but it doesn't make sense to pay more for less product. It's not like they've improved the formula or anything like that either.

I didn't realize that it was almost half of the product ... that's crazy!

Unhappy with MAC

I've really had it with MAC. I was loyal from their inception in the mid '80s by Frank Toskan and the late Frank Angelo, but countless times I've stood at the counter and been met with nothing but attitude and bone-fide bad customer service. I have to ask myself why I would willingly put myself through such insult and pain. To now learn that they're cutting down on product (surely a cost-saving measure, let's not kid ourselves) just twists the knife.

I'm moving on. Cover FX (Canadian, like MAC was before they were bought by Estee Lauder a decade ago) has recently caught my eye. And it's sold at Shoppers where I can speak with artists who aren't working strictly for one company or another.

I agree hot-cuppa

I have to agree with you 100%!!!!!

I was loyal too, also since the 80's.

I was at Yorkdate, The Bay this week end for the 1st time in a long time. I saw an add for their new line of shimmer power and new eye shadow. So I was curious.

The assistant was very stuck on showing me a colour that I told her I didn't like. She must have showed me the colour at least 3 times but DID NOT show me what I asked her I wanted. Finally, I told her very politely, thank you for your help but I will take my time to decide. Then she left me alone.

I walked over to the Estae Lauder counter (which products I use and love too) and asked if there were any bonuses at this time. The very older woman was kind but not helpful at all.

Each time I step into Shoppers - the consultants are willing to help me with any stupid question I may have. They see me often because it's the store on the corner. Much better service and I dont' have to pay arm, leg and whole body to get what I want.

totally agree...but I have an option that I use.......

I use the Micabella line of pigments and I find they are great. They are about 15 bucks
each individuallym but if you happen to find a kiosk in a mall that sells them, they do give you a deal on them. I tottally agree though that MAC is going downhill. I love their stuff, but not the price.
