Proactive: Does it REALLY work?

Hey guys! I was just wondering if anyone has tried proactive acne treatment products and if they actually works? I've seen the commercials and they're all pretty darn convincing but I don't wanna waste my money if this product doesn't actually do the job! I don't have sever acne or anything but my skins hard to deal with, if i manage to find some remedies that work, it only lasts for a day or two and my skins back to its terrible self :(
sooo if anyone knows if this product is worth my money and works lemme know and feel free to make other suggestions to skin solutions pleaseee! :)

Hi Verucasalt,

I've never personally tried it, but here is a link to lots of member reviews for Proactiv. I hope they are helpful!

I've been a Proactiv user for many years now, and it has worked miracles for my skin. I used to suffer with major acne breakouts, which ended up causing a lot of scarring on my face, back and chest area. It was not only embarrassing, but extremely painful. I noticed a difference with my face after only a few times using the 3 step program, and within the first month - I was no longer breaking out. The only issue that I did find was that if you stop using the system, or if you start missing treatments - your acne will flair back up again. Honestly, I found this product to be a huge help with my acne problem, and hopefully it can help you out too!

yes But....

Proactiv is amazing and works wonders, if you have severe acne. They even say it's not recommended for use on light to moderate acne. That is because it's basically a high strength of Benzyl Peroxide which you could get by prescription from a dermatologist.

It works, but overtime you skin can become dependent on it, and if you stop using it your acne could get worse then ever before, and that seems to be the biggest complaint from users of proactiv is it changed their skin so that when they stopped using it it became worse.

as mentioned above, do not use unless you have severe acne.
I have sensitive skin and this does not work for that. It burned my face pretty drastically a few times even when I followed instructions and is not good to use on skin that doesn't require such drastic amounts of B.P.

The only thing I liked from Proactive was the clay mask they have. That stuff really works fro spot treatment. The whole system though, not so great (in my experience).

However, I think they do offer a money back guarantee, so if you're really curious you can try it for a month and if it doesn't work, return it.

I highly recommend the Artistry Skincare line for milder skin problems. It's effective and does not cause any drying problems or other skin irritations.

It Depends

I think it's worth a shot to try it out if nothing else is working the way you want it to.
Personally, I've used Proactiv for a year now, and am FINALLY done lol, I am planning on cancelling it asap. I didn't have severe acne, but it was more than I'd ever had before, and my usual cleansers weren't making a difference. So I started Proactiv last October - it took some getting used to because it's pretty harsh, but eventually it seemed like it was starting to work a little bit. But now it's just back to irritating my skin - and not that they don't warn you about this, but it definitely stains fabrics (my pillow cases and wash cloths/towels all have bleach marks from where I've touched my face after using this stuff) which just shows how harsh it is.
I would give it a try if you're looking for help with your skin, but for me it is way too harsh without giving me any good results, and honestly the customer service was not the best either.
Hope this helps, and you find something that works for you!!

oh yes!

I haven't had an acne problem thank goodness however my sister had such an issue her face would seriously look like a pepperoni pizza. She was made fun of constantly during her teen years and tried so many products from injections to steroids you name it. Finally, she came across this Proactiv and her skin cleared up miraculously and is just as nice as mine! I would say this is a great product seeing her before and after!
