Reuse Your Coffee Grounds

I don't like waste, and I'm always looking for DIY beauty tricks, so when I found out that you can reuse your coffee grounds for smoother skin I want to try it.

Here is what I do:
Mix some coffee grounds with natural oils or a shower lotion (whatever your preference) and make a paste with it. Use the paste as you would any other body scrub.
It's a really cheap way to smooth out your skin and you get the added bonus of the caffeine to 'perk-up' your skin.

Here is a link from for more ways to use your old coffee grounds

Only thing is...

When I was writing this I looked up a couple of links on the idea and a few of them said you would enjoy the smell of the caffeine when you used it... I have to disagree with the sites - the scent of old coffee grounds is not the same as a fresh batch (not even close).

But yes, I love using them to exfoliate.

yves rocher

Makes a wonderful 'Brazilian coffee bean' shower cream. I love using it.
That's a bummer that they don't smell the same-now that I think about it, I am sure it is icky. However, I like the fact that they can be used again!

That's what I like best about it too - and after I use it my skin feels so soft! I like using it the most on my legs where the skin can be rougher and dry, the feeling after rinsing the grounds off is totally worth the strong smell. Also, because of the caffine my skin feels perkier and a little tighter.

Caffeine is a common ingredient in cellulite creams....this is something I will be working into MY routine.

Ummm...Be more careful?

Reality is it will be messy; My best advice is to use it in the shower (not a bath), let the tub drain and then go back and use the shower head to spray the rest down the drain.

The first time I did it I made a HUGE mess, but I just became more careful each time since.
