At Alexander McQueen's Fall/Winter 2011 show in Paris this month, models' heads were covered in metal barrettes by hair god Guido Paulu to create a sort of Robot Helmet inspired by the collection's shoes.
While runway hair isn't made to be replicated, is it wrong that I want this trend to catch on? It looks cool!

It is kind of cool… although, it reminds me of when I used to ‘do’ my mom’s hair and see how many of my barrettes I could fit up there.

It's very space age. I'd feel like one of the Jetsons!

All I can think of is the work involved and how my paltry efforts would make this look flop in a really big way. So for those reasons alone, it's a "no" for me.

Might be cool to modify it though and sweep back one side of your hair and hold with five barrettes in a row?

you know what I mean? It's like wearing a helmet for an extended period of time....you get that dull ache going?
I think I touch my hair too much to wear this-I would wreck the barrettes trying to run my fingers through my hair. However, it could be an ideal style for a I-didn't-wash-my-hair day.
