My best date idea...

Popsicle

First of all, notwithstanding the picture that shows up whenever i post something on this website, I'm a guy. My wife made my profile. Now i can explain my best date idea which actually got me said wife. Some people would find this freaky for a first date (and i was worried that she would too). I found a spot in a wood where i built a little firepit. I hauled in some wood and built the firepit. That evening we drove to the wood with some marinated meat & veggies and my guitar. I built a fire and roasted the food and then we played guitar and talked and looked up at the stars. I thought she would find it lame but it went over hugely well. In fact, i've been informed several times since then that I have never surpassed the "romanticism" (whatever that is!) of the first date. There ya go guys.

Great idea!

All together now, "awwww!" I think that would score big points with any girl. The point is, originality. Dinner and a movie is highly overdone.

best date...

My very first date with my boyfriend, we went down to our local park. It was around 7 that we met and it was in the beggining of August so it was nice out. We walked some of the trials and then we went in and sat on this huge rock right next to the river. We talked for hours and hours and he had his guitar with him and he played for the first time for me. When it got dark we walked back to main park and sat on the outside stage intill police offiecers came at 10 and kicked us out of the park cause it was closed. It was so perfect. I love it now that we never had any physical contact, not even holding hands or anything. It was just about getting to know one another.

It's all in the effort

I think the firepit idea is so sweet!! I, myself, is not an outdoorsy person, so my hubby would never dream of taking me out to the woods. However, I do love this firepit idea because you went ahead of time to build the firepit and that requires planning and thoughts=. It's the effort you've put into the date that made it so special!! I think for many women, it's not so much what you do together, but whether or not you've put in the effort to think of the idea and then carry it out. That's why I think the movie/dinner date thing is overrated. Your wife is a lucky gal!! :)
