First day of work outfit?

Hi Ladies,

I'm starting a new job at a startup in a few days. Their office looked pretty casual but I didn't get a chance to see what any of the other women were wearing. The men wore slacks/dark jeans, dress shirts, boat shoes or other semi casual footwear. (The interviewers were all male)

I wore dark jeans/blazer/blouse and pumps to the interview, but it might not be the right fit for every day.

Help? Anyone? What do you wear to work?

I work in a warehouse, so it's jeans for me.

Maybe on the first day,w ear something similar to what you wore in the interview, and you can go from there.

I'm lucky because my work place is very casual so I wear what I want unless I have clients coming in

first day of work outfit

The best thing to wear is something that you are comfortable in; an outfit that fits well and not too overy dressed

What is it?

What type of work environment is it? Office? retail? warehouse?

And what city - I know when I moved from Toronto to Ottawa...they have different ideas of Business casual!

This might help us help you :)

I would say either dress pants, nice formal looking slacks, knee length skits are all appropriate as bottoms, you can even dress up capris and rock it. And for tops I really like plain tops, like a long sleeve V neck, a 3/4 top, wear it with a scarf. So many possibilities.

I like to wear dress pants more to work, so I think its important to have various colors to switch it up.

I had the same issue when I stared my job, I want sure if the office was more casual or formal. It turns out its right in the middle and you can pretty much wear whatever your conformable in here. (Obviously while still looking presentable)

And good luck with your new job by the way!
