Trendy vs Fashionable

Would you rather be "trendy" or "fashionable"? Is there a difference?

I am no where near fashionable. I guess I am trendy. I like comfortable and am not classy by any means. Jeans shirts and hoodies in winter and shorts and sandals in the summer

I adore 50"s style silhouettes - such a classy feminine look. Either that or leggings and a tunic or long sweater for comfy, cozy days. Work is business casual and I work in a professional environment so I try to be casual with a business-y vibe if that makes sense. I try to experiment with trendy makeup / hair / accessories and keep the rest classic . I also dress for my body type so no matter how trendy or fashionable a piece is I won't wear it unless it flatters my body. At home or running errands you'll find me in yoga pants and a sporty top/ hoodie and sneaks or other casual comfy shoes. The really high heels I barely wear anymore. Now it's a mid size heel or flats for a foot injury.

I think there is

I believe trendy pertains to whats "in" now. And fashionable to me is someone who has their own sense of style and dress however they feel and whoever they feel, yet somehow manage to look put together. I wish LOL

Trendy is nice, but I think in the long term it's better to be fashionable because then you don't end the year with ten new expensive things you bought that are now out of style, and Fashionable is more of a sense of style and what works for you rather than wearing what everybody else is.
