Tulle skirts, buy or try diy?

iylila

It's been a year since my search began for a nice tulle skirt that isn't ridiculously overpriced. So far, no such luck. Tulle from a fabric store is so inexpensive it makes my heart hurt to see a tulle skirt that's over $50. I understand there's work that needs to be put in for making the skirt but all I want is a basic fluffy skirt like you would see a ballerina wear. My sewing skills aren't the greatest as I have troubles cutting straight lines sometimes and making waist bands is still impossible for me. However, I've reached the point where I'm honestly thinking of just returning to the fabric store and trying my hand at making the skirt myself.

So what about you guys, would you rather buy a simple garment that feels overpriced or try to make it yourself?

tulle skirts

I think I would try to make it myself, or try to see how much it would cost to get it made for me. I do not know how to sew at all. My mom and grandmother were excellent at sewing, but not me.

Do you think that a vintage clothing store might have one?

Have you tried a dance studio because they may have information where you could find one or perhaps have one made

I can look around again

I don't know of any vintage stores in my area and the thrift stores have never been kind to me but I am always willing to look again.
