Where to find an affordable party dress in Toronto?

I'm looking to find a new dress to wear on my birthday. I'd like it to be a standout piece that is really unique. I don't want to spend too much on it, because I don't have very many occasions where I can wear those kinds of things. I'd usually go to Urban Outfitters, but am looking to branch out; however Urban Outfitters is pretty representative of my style and price range.

Thanks a bunch!

I remember going to a small store named Katie on Queen Street. They had reallyy affordable cute dresses and all different styles. You'd definitely find something there. Though I haven't been there for the past 3 years so hopefully it still exists =P I remember there was another location on Yonge street (close to Dundas square) but from what I could pull out from google, here's one address and number you can try!

Address: 387 Queen St W | Toronto, ON | M5V 2A5 [ Map ]

Tel: 1 416 348-8666

Call them up to see if they're still open :) Hope this helps and hope you find a fabulous birthday dress! Happy birthday in advance! :)

Boa Apparel

Boa Apparel is definitely unique and quite affordable too. They've got
two locations North Toronto and Just recently opened up a new store
located in Oakville. You can read more about them here --> http://www.theboaroom.com/

Hope you have a wonderful birthday btw!

I like RW & Co.

Cute, reasonable and there are lots of locations.

Thanks for the suggestions and for the birthday wishes!

I think I'm going to go with reviving a dress I already have, which I'm realizing is more fun than buying something new! I'll probably wear a pair of decorated tights instead of plain black ones and do something new with my hair and makeup to mix things up.

Femme de Carriere

Last night, my girlfriend showed me the cutest strapless dress from Femme de Carriere. On sale now too, I think is was under $150. Strapless with pockets. If anyone is looking this dress is definitely worth seeing. It is a classic sexy vibe. Comes in black or purple. http://www.femmedecarriere.com/home.html
I can't find a pic of the dress on her website but you can find store locations.

Le Chateau

Try Le Chateau - I bought my last big birthday dress from there and every time I walk by that store, I want to buy all their dresses...if only I had somewhere to wear all of them...

Btw, asiangoddess - Katie does still exist - I bought a dress there last spring for a formal and got tons of compliments on it.

If you have a bigger budget - try Original (what used to be F/X some years ago) they are more prom-y but you can find tons of beautiful things there.

Vintage is also an option - I love Vintage69 for their stuff.

Happy shopping!
