Amateur Photographers

Are any of you amateur photographers?  I never leave home without my camera.  You never know when that quintessential and
unplanned photo opportunity will pop up.
I’ve documented my kids’ lives with my camera and video camera.  My friends and family have gotten used to my
having a camera in hand.  I especially
enjoy taking spontaneous photos that are captured at the opportune moment.  I always say expect the unexpected.  Nature shots are also a favorite of mine,
especially “Ocean Sunrises”.  We’ve been
spending our summers at the beach these past few years and those unique ocean
sunrises have left quite an impression on me.
It’s all about timing and it’s breathtaking to see the sun slowly creep
up on the horizon and bloom into a fiery blaze of colour.  Getting up while it’s still dark and heading
down to the beach to look for seashells and await the birth of a new day is a calming
and spiritual moment.  You are a part of
this wondrous phenomenon that is unfolding before your very eyes.  You can’t help but step back and admire
Mother Nature at her finest hour.  Nature
is the ultimate muse for any photographer.

Anyone else carry a trusted camera wherever they go?

Your post is very inspiring! I love how you're in tune with your surroundings, especially with nature. It's something a lot of us take for granted. I don't carry my camera around with me, but when I do take photos, I also like to capture natural moments. I think those photos are more interesting than the usual posing for pictures.

I carry a click and shooy around because I'm afraid I'll drop and destroy my Canon. I have butterfingers. But yes, I love photography.

Thanks for sharing!

As long as there's an interesting subject it doesn't matter what camera you have on hand; your passion will capture the essence of your subject. I always have my camera bag with my gear because I never know what I'll need. It's like my permanent diaper bag. It's exciting not knowing when or where your next muse will be. No wonder my kids feel so comfortable in front of the camera; they've had no choice in the matter. Funny how I don't like having my picture taken but love taking photos of others.
