Best Summer Reads

cathy3087

I know we have had a thread like this in the past but it's high time we start another!

I'm looking for some book recommendations for this summer, what good book have you read lately??

I'm really into chick lit because they are usually such fun reads, but share any genre you like best!!

Debutante DIvorcee by Plum Sykes

Recently I read Debutante DIvorcee by Plum Sykes. It was a super cute and fun read. I haven't reviewed it yet but its on my list of things to review ha ha. I hated her last book (Bergdorf Blondes) but I really enjoyed this one.

Sarah Dessen, Melissa de la Cruz, Sophie Kinsella, Nora Roberts

Sarah Dessen- I love her books. They're chicklit, and in a way, they're really deep. I mean, I cried from some of them.

I'm also reading the Melissa de la Cruz. She has a series about vampires, and its pretty good, as well as her other books.

Sophie Kinsella- She wrote the Shopaholic Series and some others. I like her books because they're so...British.

And for mystery& suspense:

Nora Robert/ J.D. Robb.- Her/ His "In Death" series is just awesome. I really love Innocent in Death. It's so goooood. It's unpredictable.

^ Okay, I'm kinda crazy, but I'm hooked on their books. Anyways, I hope you find a great read!

Marian Keyes

Lately I haven't have the chance to read GOOD books. THe one i chose turned out to be ok or boring.

But I really like Marian Keyes books, the old ones though. The new ones (since Anybody Out There?) are too depressing.

Great books

John Sandford's Prey book's are great reads, but they're not so much chick books. The main guy does have a lot of ladies through the story's. I've bin reading the Prey novels for a few years now and just love them, there's something like twenty books out as of this year. They all start with Prey, such as Eye's of Prey and so on. It's about this cute detective that's smart as a whip and he ends up hooking up with some woman in just about every book. The books all grab you right from the start and you just don't want to put them down, that is until you're getting close to the end of each book, unless you have the next one on hand. You'll find your self only reading a bit at a time when you get close to the end because you just don't want it to end. The nice thing about the books is that they run in order and as long as you have the next book, you'll know how the story of his life has gone on and you can't wait to see what he's up to next. I've gotten my mom, my sister in law, my best friend and now my brother all hooked on these book. If you'd like a sneak peak at them go to http://www.johnsandford.org/directory.html you'll be able to see his Prey books there and also some of the other book he's written.

Black Dagger Brotherhood series by J.R. Ward!

You should check out the Black Dagger Brotherhood books! Its a series of books about a vampire brotherhood fighting against the Lessers to save the vampire race. Each book tells the story of a different member of the brotherhood, and is pretty racy at some parts! A friend described it as Twilight for grown-ups :) I suggest that you start with the first book and work through them as the storyline continues from book to book. I haven't been able to put them down! I'm starting the last book now, don't know what I'll do when I'm done ;)
