Have any of you ever gone to a clothes swap before? I have been to a few now and I absolutely love them! You just bring a bunch of clothes that you don't want to wear anymore (but are in good condition) and you go home with whatever you want. Basically the phrase, "one persons trash is another persons treasure" was MADE for clothes swaps!
Earlier this year I went to one downtown Toronto, and they are having another one in a couple of weeks, so I thought I would let everyone know. The bigger the better I think. Here is the link to the facebook group:

I have seen these advertised and always wondered if they were good. I can't help but visualize piles of 80's sweaters and acid wash jeans!!! Maybe I'll check this one out! :)

haha yah there is a bit of effort involved in going to a clothes swap ... you definitely have to sift through some of the shall we say less fashionable items lol ... kind of like going to winners lol ... but I got a TON of cool stuff from the last one I went to (my boyfriend joked that I should set a limit for myself next time because I went home with my backpack absolutely STUFFED) including a nice purse, leather jacket, several dresses and 2 really nice sweaters.
Definitely environmentally friendly, closet friendly, and even if you don't find a ton of good stuff it always turns out to be a lot of fun!

I'm going to be out of town that weekend! (Taking my 2 nieces to visit their Granny! All three of them would be devestated if i cancelled!) Please let me know how it goes! And I will try to make it to the next one.
This is the site I have found advertising for clothing swaps on. I am just never organized enough to get my butt down to one of them!

Bargainista is a friend of mine and her site is a great resource for these kinds of deals :)
I have never been to a clothing swap but a number of my friends have either attended or planned one. I think it's absolutely brilliant!

Have you heard of any clothing swaps in the Atlanta area?
|Craft Swap! on Mar 03, 2009 @ 08:28 am|
The same group is organizing a craft swap! :)
What a great idea! I have tonnes of great craft supplies that I just can't figure out what to create with them! Beads, material, odds and ends... etc. This might be a really great chance to purge some of my supplies and pick up a few great pieces to add to my collection! I am feeling a crafting weekend coming on! :)
