Antique Fairs and Antique Stores are my favourite haunts

I enjoy going to antique fairs and antique stores. There are so many treasures that are waiting
to be appreciated once again. I believe
that everything has a second life. You
never know what you’ll find and it’s that mystery that builds the
excitement. Vintage pieces are unique
and the quality in the craftsmanship in my opinion is unsurpassed. You’ll discover items that you never thought
existed and begin a new collection. I
have pieces from a variety of periods that co-exist in my home and create a
warm and inviting environment. I find
this to be a relaxing outing full of possibilities and the opportunity to learn
about a period in our rich history through these treasures that are a reminder
of our evolution.

One of my greatest finds is a “Federal Bullseye Mirror with
an American Eagle” that I restored. I
longed to acquire such mirror but could never find one until that fated day. It has been restored and looks fabulous. It was a painstaking process that was well
worth the effort. I’m quite proud of my

To be honest; all my finds are special to me because often
times I was not looking for them and they just happened to be in my line of
vision when I dropped by my favourite haunts.
There are so many lovely items waiting to be discovered and I’m looking
forward to a new season of antique hunting.

I hope you finding something special Christine! :-)

It's very kind of you to help out others by either donating or selling your items at a fraction of the cost. It's a win win situation for everyone. :-)

Going to garage sales

Sorry about the typos lately is it just me, or is everyone having the same problem. You can't preview your spelling here like you can with the reviews.

Spring bargain shopping

I am glad to see the number of chicks who share my passion for garage sales and vintage shopping. I was raised by a single parent and learned to shop this way out of necessity.
I quickly learned the value of reusable items. I try to be environmentally responsible and hate to see anything go to waste. That being said, I LOVE VINTAGE SHOPPING!
It is so much fun searching for treasures amongst the discards of others. I have found many special things for myself and my friends at amazing prices.
I have a thing for vintage jewelry and purses. Most of my furniture is vintage. I just bought a beautiful, carved wooden chair for $10!
I also frequent church bazaars and the occasional auction. I was thrilled to buy 5 'group of seven ' original prints for $75!
Fresh air and bargains! What could be better than that?
