am i over reacting?

ok so here's the situation:
last weekend I went out with some friends from school (im in grad school). It was my first time in downtown dallas, and i didnt know where to park, so I ended up parking kinda far from where we met up at this club. After we got out of the club, one of the girls from class asked me for a ride home, i agreed, but I couldnt remember where i parked. We walked around for like 30 mins cause i didnt know where the hell i was, and she was gettin all pissed off. Anyways i apologized twice (which she said she forgave me for) and dropped her off at her house. well on monday i get to school and like 4 or 5 ppl come up to me saying "so i heard you lost car this weekend..," after like the third person I started getting pissed. Am i over reacting by gettin mad? should I:
1. Just ignore it and move on
2. Laugh it off, cause im blowing it out of proportion
3. Go tell the girl that I think it was messed up that shes talkin shit to everyone after I tried to be nice and help her out.

I dont usually like to cause drama or be confrontational, but i thought that she was being disrespectful. Am i right or wrong? I appreciate blunt honesty...

blunt honesty

i think you are over reacting:)clearly the girl might be a bit immature in telling people, but to me its like "whats the big deal".i'd laugh everytime someone comes to me to tell me they've heard and then id let them in on what happened.no biggy.seeing you apologized is good enough,so maybe she is in the wrong.it wasn't your fault you forgot where you were parked:)

Laugh it off

I think guys take this stuff much more seriously than girls. She probably thought it was a funny story and likely one of the most interesting things that happened to her all weekend. Laugh it off and you will look better for it :)

Laugh it off. The situation is not worth the energy. And if it/she really irritates you that much, just make it a point to not associate w/ her any more.

"LOL" it off.

I've been living in Toronto all my life and I sometimes forget where the heck I park my car whenever I'm in downtown! You were doing her a favour, so it is definitely nothing to get too worried about : )
