Cat is sick at emergency vets, please send hope and prayers.

Cornelius is at the vet right now. Hubby and I got home and about an hour later he puked blood, we scooped it and him up and drove to the emergency vet. His gums were super pale and he was super dehydrated. It happened really fast. Fifteen minutes before he was fine.

They said it could be a virus or anaemia or internal bleeding. They're going to call us with the results of the blood test in an hour, after that more tests if they don't find anything. We are in pieces.

If you are religious please pray, if not, send thoughts his way. Please, I know to some people a cat is just a cat, but Cornelius is our family and anybody who knows me knows how much I love him. I'll update when I can.

UPDATE: Cornelius is stable. His red blood cell count is low and he's anaemic, but it's not so low that it's super serious. His sugar is slightly high but it could be due to stress. Good white cell count (so no cancer). Current prevalent theory is some sort of virus carried by the ear mites Archie (recently adopted cat) had. If not, ultrasound on Monday and a weekend stay at emergency clinic, will update when we know more. Thanks for all the well wishes, it means so much. I love that little booger like he was actually my baby.

Thank you so much for your support guys. They are going to do an ultrasound monday as the blood tests revealed nothing. I'm not as worried anymore (though still nervous), now it's more concern about paying his bills >_<

I really hope Cornelius gets his health back very soon and is back home with you both. It's very worrisome and scary when our pets get sick. They are part of the family and their wellbeing is important to us, so it's understandable that you feel this way. Hang in there!

Thank you so much! At this point I just want as many thoughts and prayers to be on his side as possible. He's the sweetest cat I've ever met in my life, the vet techs are already calling him Mr Marvellous.

Sending Good Vibes!

I hope Cornelius is able to come home with you guys today and that they figured out what is wrong with him!

Our dogs and parrots are out family, not "just animals," so I totally understand how it feels to feel so helpless while your family member is at the vet awaiting test results :(

They're still not sure as the ultrasound showed nothing and he's not improving, but not getting worse. The vet things it might be parasites now, but has to wait on the results of the blood.

Thank you for your support, I'm super stressed <3

More Update

The vet staff are in love with my baby boy, he's so sweet he charms everyone. So much that the vet did a free X-ray and found air in his stomach somewhere. He's not worsening, but not improving. It could be a burst ulcer. He also has sharp stones in his bladder and one of those could have been the cause. He's going into surgery tomorrow morning to remove them and find a cause and I'm frantic with worry.

Please send your prayers or whatever you can, we need them right now.
