Hello everyone, I am debating whether or not to buy a Dyson vacuum cleaner. Does anyone own one and if so do you think that it is worth the expense . Any input would be appreciated. Thanks Mel

Dyson

It's so funny, buying a Dyson was like my mom's dream haha and we finally bought one, it's definitely a good vacuum! I think just because we had spent so much on cheapie vacuums that kept breaking, it was worth it.

Dyson

My husband bought one last Christmas when they were having a sale on it at the local Home Outfitters (and no one ever has sales on Dysons!). At the time they were offering $100 off, plus gift cards - I can't recall the actua amount of cards now but it was something like a $20.00 gift card for you to spend next time on every $100 (or something like that). We got about 10 gift cards, which we gave to my brother, who went and bought the same Dyson with it the following week. Turns out the gift cards were not supposed to be given out with vaccum purchase because of the sale. Worked out for me.

We bought the DC 23 Motorhead (Canister Model). I've never used it, cause fortunate enough the my husband does the vacuuming LOL. He claims that it's easier to use, which I have no experience on the matter, but I do notice that he's constantly emptying out the canister as compared to our old vacuum, so I'm assuming thta means that the extra power is actully collecting all the dust/dirt etc. Seems pretty powerful. It came with plenty of attachements, including for stairs, and an thin extender for getting between furniture. It's not cheap, but I don't think we'll ever buy another vacuum for a few decades, so it's probably worth the investment ... or maybe this is why way of feeling better on spending so much on a vacuum!

Dyson is great!

We purchased our Dyson V6 Absolute Cord-free Vacuum Cleaner at Costco. It was exactly what we were looking for. A light weight easy to vacuum. Cordless with great attachments. We have a dyson canister vac that we really like. It's just a little big to pull out everyday and get up a little dog hair and dust. The vacuum performed wonderfully.

Great on carpet, not so great on floors

After many years of wanting a Dyson finally got one for Christmas. I was so excited and love it on carpet....works really well and you see all the dust and hair that is collected. But not so great on floors. Won't pick up crumbs and seems to push them around. My old Hoover Windtunnel was a quarter of the price and worked better on floors and almost as well on carpet.

So Worth it!

We bought one about a year ago. The cordless lightweight one. It's makes vacuuming so much easier. It's light, cordless, not kidding, never enjoyed vacuuming until we got one of those Dyson's. Very worth it.

Hmmmm...

In regards to not great on floors; weird because mine works better on floors. We bought it because it's great on floors. Our whole place is wood with accents carpets. I guess different models is good for different surfaces. :)
