Garage door opening and closing without HomeLink being programmed

HannaThomas

2019 Honda Ridgeline opens and closes my garage door even though the
homelink opener is not programmed to do so. The openers have been
completely deprogrammed so none of them open or close the door-yet when I
drive in or out of my driveway the door goes up, down, part way up or
down or maybe doesn’t do anything. I have reset the garage door opener
but the nuisance continues. It is most disconcerting!

Hold the outer two HomeLink buttons until the red light flashes, This erases any stored codes in all three buttons. If your garage door continues to open and close, then it's not your Ridgeline.

A common cause of this type of failure is a blocked mechanism

A common cause of this type of failure is a blocked mechanism. The first thing to check is the absence of foreign objects in all moving parts, interfering with the normal operation of the entire unit. It is also necessary to check for the presence of the connection of metal transmitters.

Another cause of failure in such a situation may be the failure of the spring. In this case, the main load is on the motor. Several times it can perform the function. Its performance will be reduced, and the Garage Door will stop opening.
