Going Out Alone

on Feb 03, 2009 @ 03:30 pm

One of my favourite bands has a concert coming up, and I would really love to go. However, none of my friends like the band. I do have one friend who may possibly go with me but she seems a bit iffy. So, should I go to the concert alone? Or wait another year for the band to play in Canada again =S

fyi: the venue isn't exactly band-ish - it's at Circa. It's a club style venue so going alone might seem a little awkward.

go alone and enjoy yourself :) on Feb 04, 2009 @ 02:16 am

if it were me i'd go alone... of course its fun when there are friends to go with but just because they're not available is no reason for you to miss out on a concert!! go alone for the music and have a great time :) you'll be surprised on how much fun you'll end up having..!

i go to malls, movies, etc alone and i love it :) i go with friends, parents, etc but going alone has its own excitement and newness that you don't get when with others...

Thanks for the input! :) I enjoy going out alone too. I go shopping, to restaurants, etc. alone on the occasion. Alone time helps me relax.

The only thing that bothers me about this occasion, is that it's at a club. I wish it was at a music cafe instead. The thought of going to a club alone feels awkward. I'm not sure if it really is weird, or if it's just because it's something I haven't tried before which makes it seem weird.

Hey There,
I have done exactly this - a few times. I wanted to see the band so badly it did not matter to me.
What I found was it was an empowering experience. I proved to myself that I didn't need a date or anyone else to go have a good time. After all I was there for the music.
Be safe, but go and enjoy.

I'm not sure actually. Usually I'm all for going to things by myself if no one else goes with me. Why should someone stop me from doing what I like?

But it's at Circa and it's probably late at night. I'd be very intimidated being at such a venue by myself and possibly a little scared depending on the situation. But then again you might meet some really cool people that would like the same band as you.

If you'd be comfortable going alone then I say go for it. I agree with Jen, to stay safe.
