Good TV Shows

Christine Kempt

With so many new ones coming out, it is hard to know which ones are good and which ones are a waste of time.

Do you have any recommendations?

The only ones I really follow are Workin Moms, Schitt's Creek and American Gods. They're all great shows. I watch the first two on Netflix and the last is only available on Amazon Prime.

I have been watching a lot of Netflix shows and I am going through all the seasons of RuPauls Drag Race
I just like Netflix because I don't have to wait weekly for episodes.

The Haunting of Hill House

I just finished watching the entire season. Is it scary? Yes, there are A LOT of jump scares! And a few anxiety ridden "what's going to happen" scares. Is it a horror show? No, if anything it's more of a family drama show. The story is very well portrayed by the actors, some of the best acting I've seen in a tv show in a long time!

Some others I love,

Santa Clarita Diet
Riverdale (guilty pleasure!)
The Crown
The Good Place
The OA (if you're into something deep and thought provoking)

I swear I don't watch a lot of tv *LOL*

Define "Good"

I'm not sure what kind of shows you enjoy: drama, comedy, current affairs? Do you have more than regular cable channels (i.e. specialty channels such as HBO), Netflix, Amazon Prime, or are you open to using online, free streaming sites such as Couchtuner to find more variety?

Right now, I'm eagerly awaiting the 3rd season premiere (June 5) of Hulu's The Handmaid's Tale (which I watch on another streaming site within 5 minutes of its Hulu broadcast; Canada delays the series on Bravo); the series is filmed in Toronto, Hamilton, and Burlington.

I'm also a huge fan of Amazon Prime's The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel.

There are more than a few shows I could possibly recommend, but please let me know what genre you prefer and what access you have to content.
