How is everyone doing?

With all the extra precautions in place like staying home and social distancing it's safe to say that life is pretty different for a lot of us.

For those of you who still have to go into work , THANK YOU SO MUCH! <3 I can't express with words how thankful I am that you have continued to go into your job and do what you do. Thank you.

With all of this being said, how are you all doing?

Stay safe and healthy, my friends!

We're doing well at our house. Hubby is working from home, so it can be challenging at times with having all four kids at home, but we are managing. We are staying in, with the exception of our after dinner walk, even then we make sure we are keeping our distance if we see others walking. Mostly, in just trying to enjoy this extra time with my family.

I work at a grocery store.
They are installing plexiglass around our tills. Eventually.
I'm also immuno deficient being a diabetic.
I couldn't be more stressed to earn minimum wage in my whole life, but quitting or staying home is not an option.

@fredamans do you work for a Loblaw's store? I got an email from them this morning talking about how they will be installing Plexiglass at the cash. I don't blame you, I would be stressed to the max too :(

@ fredamans. Thanks so much for everything you are doing. Without groceries this world would be chaotic and unsafe. My husband is an insulin dependent diabetic and we read on the American Diabetes Health Association that as long as your diabetes is under control it's not any more worrisome than someone without. He acquired diabetes at 17 due to an infection that attacked his pancreas but he will be the first to say a really bad flu can affect his blood sugars and make them whacky. I'm blessed that he has a great immune system and is in good health. Going on 41 and he has perfect vision and doesn't need glasses, great circulation and has more energy than I do. I work in healthcare and I am very familiar with diabetes and I can sometimes tell when his sugars are low even before him so he is well taken care of. I'm glad your work is taking good care of you. I can only imagine how it must be to have to work during these times. I am thankfully on maternity leave and don't go back to work till August 1st. I'm hoping this will be u der control by then but I have a feeling it won't. Take care of yourself and thanks for being a part of keeping mine and everybody else's cupboards and bellies full. In my opinion being without food would be alot worse than this virus. Thank you to all who work in grocery and other food related stores, trucking industry as well as health care. My family feel so much respect and gratitude as does most of the world I am sure.

Thank you for your gracious replies.
An update; I work for FreshCo.
We are now getting an extra $50/week from March 8th and $2 extra an hour if worked more than 20.
We have plexiglass in front, and doors will be installed behind us asap.
As for my Diabetes. I am pretty good that way. I was in Chatelaine in November 2019 interviewed because I am so young having type 2, not over weight and have in the last 10 years of diagnosis, am reversing it. 2 more good blood tests and I get weaned off my Metformin.
However, my imune system has never been good. I battled cervical cancer since 15 years old. It knocked my immune system out of whack and it's never been the same since. When I get a little cold, it turns into the flu. When I get the flu, it turns into pneumonia. So that's what scares me. If I get COVID, what will it do to me?
I really appreciate all of the people that have been so nice to us cashiers. For every person that yells at me about the shortage or limits we placed, there is a person thanking me for being there.

How is everyone doing

How are you doing? Due to a serious car accident in October, I have been at home all these months, so the virus situation really doesn't affect me at all and I am sending good vibes out to people who are having difficulty coping.
Hoping you are safe and healthy

Husband and I are both working from home with our toddler in the house. Can be a little hectic at times but definitely getting all the help we can get from the grandparents. Such a difficult time.

Stay healthy and safe everyone!
