Kat Von D blames influencers for the demise of her makeup line

So, my beautiful ladies. I came across this article, and to be honest. I felt a little insulted at the blame game. As a beauty influencer, I take what I post, and review very seriously. The beauty industry is full of products, and without people like myself , who for a living, rate, review and share about products we love and trust. With that being said. If the community I love is the reason this company did not thrive, then miss von D should maybe consider that we are the voice 9f the community, and if her products were not performing, we said so. And to that, she did not fix formulas to better suit her customers needs , wants and desires. If what I write helps someone make an informed decision based on reviews, than my job is complete. What I do , I do for free, I am not paid by anyone to promote products, and to be frank, kat von D makeup was sub par.

I totally agree, I feel like I give constructive criticism and companies should listen and adjust the products to consumers needs

Absolutely! If I love a product I say so. If I hate it I say so. If influencers are saying your product is not good then see what you can do to make it better or accept that your product us not that great. We are here to help brands not to destroy them. Constructive criticism isn't meant to break you it's to help make you.

I agree. I feel like she is giving blame for not being able to keep up with a changing consumer is not fair, and looks extremely poorly. There is a way to be 'different' while still meeting consumer demand. Hopefully the product line will do better, now being taken over by new management.

The inappropriate names for the colours in her line didn't help either. I don't know if I'd want to review a make-up product with name "underage red" I read the story behind that, but still sounds sketchy.
I've personally never used any of her products, they just never appealed to me.
