Shift work


I just finished a stretch of 7 shifts. I find it so hard to have a routine when I work days & evenings. Does any one else work shift? What are your tricks to say motivated to go to the gym, eat healthy and get a good sleep?? 
I struggle with all of those things. :(

It is really hard. I just always make a point of doing one thing a week just for me. Something to look forward to.

I haven't worked for 10 months I had shoulder surgery. I worked early shift hard for me to do anything exhausted all the time but I made sure that right after supper I got in a walk. I felt great if I did. Now I have been doing 30-45 min total on the exercise bike and the gazelle every second day and already feeling better. I do it after supper the. Have a shower and get ready for bed.

for eating I find it is a must to have a meal plan, or at least an idea of what you want to make. I try to have at least 3 days planned for supper, make sure I have everything I need to make these recipes and sometimes when I know it's going to be a crazy week I do the prep work ahead of time and put it in the fridge.

For the gym, I need improvement. It's good to know when you want to go though. If you are prepared mentally to go and if you have your gym bag ready to go and have a time that you want to go, do it. You'll feel way better.

As for bedtime, there is actually some bedtime yoga that you can do that gets you super relaxed and ready to sleep.

Thanks Ladies.

I try to meal prep but then I end up getting so bored of the same old meals.
Also, it's an added challenge to wind down when I get home from work because
I have to be super quite when I crawl into bed. Don't want to disrupt my boyfriend.
I do like the yoga idea. I was looking up some bedtime routines on Pinterest.

I need to find multiple work out buddies I think. People who have the mornings off too. I think if I had a work out buddy I would be better for going to the gym.
