Sugar addict.

I don't drink, smoke or have any other unhealthy habits. My only addiction is sugar. I eat sugar every day. If I don't give into my sugar urges I feel unhappy and sometimes even feel agitated. I eat a lot of sugar but I would like to stop. If it's this hard for me to quit sugar I can only imagine those with bigger addictions. Have any of you ladies cut sugar out of your life? If so how? Do you feel better since ditching sugar?

Following because I have the exact same problem that you have. I don't drink or smoke either, but sugar is my life (aka chocolate)

I have the biggest sweet tooth. I always find myself craving for sugar before.
almost 9 months ago, I embarked on a ketogenic diet / low carb high fat. I had to quit sugar. Cold turkey.
I have slipped off a couple times that makes me don't want to eat sugar again. The breakouts and headache weren't worth it.

Find better sugar substitutes (erythritol, stevia, monk fruit) or if you are craving anything sweet, have an apple or fruit instead. There are chocolates that are sweetened with stevia or erythritol. I highly recommend CocoPolo from BulkBarn. If you like chocolates, try having dark chocolate instead.

The more you feed yourself sugar, the more you crave it.

My Opinion

I also have the biggest sweet tooth and eat dessert every night after dinner, along with some fruits. Personally, I don't find having a snack after dinner bad (be it chocolate or cake) as long as it's one chocolate bar and not three or four. I know my grandparents always had sweet snacks after dinner and thank God are still here and well, same as my great-grandmother who lived to be over 90. Hope this helps. Just my opinion.

Sugar addict!

I am completely addicted to sugar and sweets. I always love having dessert after dinner and don't feel my night is complete without it. My whole family has always had dessert after dinner and it brings us all together. I really love the tradition. I don't feel it's bad to allow yourself to have treats every night so you don't feel deprived. If you don't satisfy these cravings your body might want to binge in order to satisfy the craving.

I used to keep away with anything that contained sugar for the longest time like 20 years of my life then when I started going threw menopause I started eating muffins, cakes pies and chocolate bars I don't add any sugar or any other kind of sweets in my coffee or tea but I find ever since I started eating sweets I've put on some weight

Bakergirl & Sweetsara, your profile names give away your sweet tooth.lol. @Deanene my mom has also put on weight since menopause. I don't worry about my weight too much since I'm 5'5 and weigh 118lbs. I guess I'm lucky I have a fast metabolism. Especially considering I'm 38 and have three kids. I just want to cut sugar so I can be a healthier me.

Sugar addict

I'm a huge sugar-holic. Ice cream is my go to right now, it's so bad. But I read somewhere that sugar is like, the more you eat, the more you crave it! Even though it's not good for you, it's like our bodies are not that smart or against us! Eat sugar, crave crave crave, eat sugar, crave! It's a horrible cycle.

Also I eat ice cream because I had a dairy allergy for years so I literally went like 5-6 YEARS with no milk products, cheese, yogurt, ice cream, cheese cake, nothing. It sucked! Seems to have gone away but I've gained probably 30 pounds in the past 4-5 months because I'm like, making up for time lost! Lol. I think dairy is a huge killer too in my opinion, eat and crave, and it's BAD IMO. I'd almost rather cut it out and take calcium pills again... But dang that ice cream is always calling me!

I have a sweet tooth. I just try to do everything in moderation. Having some cookies after dinner isn’t so bad. I do however drink vanilla lattes so I try not to do anything too crazy with sugar the rest of the day. So I guess I try to stick to a couple sugary items a day and stick with good wholesome meals for the rest of the day. In the end our bodies still need sugar and salt to live just not as much as we want to ingest. Good luck on your de-sugaring

Im the same way but i honestly dont see them harm in a treat here and there, maybe opt for sugar from fruit? personally unless you are eating way too much sugar why not have a chocolate bar

Sugar addict here too.

I do use Stevia in my coffee and tea now and I don't drink pop/ juice but I cant stop on the chocolate and some other sweets. Love really dark chocolate and too cheap to spend 4 times the price for sugar free. What's a girl to do? I hear Magnesium and L-glutamine supplements may help.
