i don't know about anybody else but I found myself incredibly emotional last night watching The Hip's final show. I have been to see them 3 times over the years. The fact that they are Canadian makes me so proud. I feel like we are losing a real important piece of us Canadians. Such a shame that another good person has to be taken from us so early in his life.

Very emotional and also very inspirational to watch. They (especially Gord Downie) sent the message of never giving up in the face of life's greatest challenge and they got everyone to gather nationwide to build a community that stood for what Canada really stands for - being proud of our roots and positive support for one another. Even those who never listened to any of their songs tuned in to send him off. So amazing, yet bittersweet. Definitely an iconic, Canadian moment.
