26 years old with high blood pressure?!?!?!

I was the grocery store and they have these machines that test your blood pressure and I tested with hypertension. I am worried because I am pretty young to be worrying about high blood pressure. I will say that I do eat a lot of salt and I am not active at all. My diet is pretty bad, and my mother does have high blood pressure. I don't have money right now to go to the doc, but is there anything that I can do naturally to help this? Even if I did have the money to go to the doctor they would just put me on medication and I do not like taking medications. I can remember being at the doctor a few years ago, and it was pretty high, but they just attributed it to me being nervous, but every time I check it myself it's pretty high and I'm starting to get worried. Any help at all would be great, thanks!!!!

And I heard garlic as well as vinegar lower blood pressure but you don't want to consume this remedy unless sure otherwise you can suffer hypotension (rather than hypertension).
